So in a few months, I'm planning on diving into the larger electrics. Now normally, when I get ready to purchase something, I do hours and hours of research before making a decision of what I want. However, my patience is growing thin . I'm PLANNING on purchasing a logo 600 and Aurora 90E. I'm trying to decide the right motors for the 2 machines. Now, I know scorpion motors are pretty popular, however, I don't think I'll get one. Why? Because of the bearings. I know myself, and I'm not going to take the time to take out those motors, take them apart, oil them, put them back together, reset the gear mesh, etc every 6-8 flights. Yeah, I'm just not going to do it to be brutally honest. I don't care how easy or fast it is, lol, I'm not going to do it. With that said, I want some good motors. I'm not a super hard 3D flyer, so I don't need the most power I could possibly pump through the wires, however, I do want the power of an electric. Also, flight time is important. If I can push 5-6 min of flying (yes 3D flying, maybe not heart stopping 3D flying, but 3D nonetheless), I'll be a happy camper. So what are your recommendations?

You don't have to remove the motor to replace the bearings.

If you have a counterbearing setup the bearings will last a long time and a little oil here and there helps but many get hundreds of flights. No bearing is forever. However scorpion uses better quality bearings not then they first did.

You could just be spoiled and get the kontronik motors (like i did after using scorpion for a while) they are cool running so don't really need oil. However bearing would still likely need replacing after a few hundred flights and you need to send them in.

you can just buy good bearings for the scorpion right off the bat if your that nervous about them. drop in good ceramic sealed bearings and forget about it.

for the 600 i recomend one of the 4025-*** series motors depend on the battery's

as for the avant heli i saw ben storick fly his 90e at a fun fly back on Easter weekend and he was running the 4035-530. it was crazy power with the big ice 160 from CC

Who cares... its just money...
