I am running Futaba BLS451's with my 3g FBL unit. I am not in love with the Align servo horns that came with the kit. What else have other people tried and has anyone used the non FBL’s servo horns. I know the geometry is different on them, but will they work? I do have a metal set of Quick UK ones that I would like to try.

Not sure which horns you have but, Quick are now doing new metal servo horns with the holes drilled for FBL.

The ones that came with the 3G are junk and will strip out under stick banging. Loose them and upgrade to the align metal ones for Futaba they are really good. A set is ~$22 and it comes with balls and nuts for links.

What is wrong witht the plastic ones? I am running them on my 700 with BLS451 servos. I run the plastic ones and have no problems. If you need the metal ones buy the align ones and the GEO will be the same.

I would not use the metal ones. If you crash you will break servo cases or worse. I have yet to strip the plastic ones in flight. There was a thread here on RR about this. Just my 2 cents.

I had one of the align plastic one slip on my 600 this weekend. These were the align 3G version that came with the kit. The plastic is very soft, maybe there are some lots that are worst that others.

I did not Know that Quick UK or Align was making new metal servo horns with the holes drilled for FBL.I think it's a good upgrade since the plastic ones from Align just strip was to easy.I was able to find the Quick UK one, but does any one have the part number for the Align one.

Thanks

As far I as I know you use the Align horns with F stamped on them for there Align servos and futaba.

Well I fitted an Align F horn to my BLS 251 2 days ago and fitted perfect.

With regards to stripping , just make sure you locktite the center holding screw in and be sure the horn goes all the way onto servo.

Ive stripped 2 but only in bad crashes , which then saved my servos.

I would say though after a crash remove the horns and check there ok , as one nearly caught me out on my 700 after a crash rebuild looked fine then slipped in flight.
