Hey guys,

I am going to order a replacement battery pack for a Ham Radio. they also offer battery replacement inserts in order that you can use your battery case.

I am curious, the battery pack I have has a plastic case. How do I separate the case in order to intal fresh Ni Cads?

THX,

Isaac

Hi Isaac

I've done a few myself. They usually don't look all that great afterwards. You can usually find some low cost batteries on ebay for most radios.
Most of them are glued, or sonicly welded.
Just find the seem where the battery case halves are joined. I use an exacto knife on one of the corners to get them started and once you get the seam started to seperate, a small screw driver can be used to pry the case apart.

If the battery is no good, you have nothing to loose by trying.

Good luck.
