After all the great things the N5 has turned out to be, what would you change or improve?
Maybe a manufacturing change that Matt can take on board, or a simple addition or subtraction that makes a great heli even better.

Couple of points for me.

De-burr the holes on the skid tubes. Found this very frustrating
Move the switch position
Change the under carriage design - just far to narrow

I don't intend this to be a 'bashing' thread, if you feel like that don't bother posting, it should be more of a continuous improvement thread.

I didn't find the deburring to bad but on our lumply field the skids are tricky and care must be taken to choose a good landing spot, switch could be further back, other than that its fantastic, love it

+1 fbl head would be nice, especially with the Total G due out soon. I am wishy washy on this one though because the stock flybarred head works so well.

N9 style skids +2. I have been looking at other skids and cannot find something that works for me.

They could be called SE skids.

I'm not a fan of the heat shrink on the carbon push rod for the tail pitch control...

The heat shrink always seems to add friction to the link, surely making the guide holes smaller and removing the heat shrink would give a smoother link???

Other than that great build!

Here are my first impressions from a build and first 3 flights.

The tail slider really needs a threaded fastener. Tried CA but it let loose on the first flight. Epoxy seems to hold better, but a threaded nut would be much better.

Is it possible to change the rudder servo location so it doesn't interfere with the needles on the OS55? The carb has to be twisted to clear the link.

The fan shroud is difficult to install and remove due to a spanner section that is hard to stop from turning unless you have a bent nose needle nose pliers.

Ball links are way too tight on some of the balls. The links are larger than standard size. You can't size them with a standard ball link sizer. Maybe a cheap plastic sizer can be include in the kit.

The model does fly very true. It tracks like a Vibe 50. Pirouettes, rolls and flips are very axial - better than the Velocity 50 IMO. Tail authority is great with 92mm blades and a Spartan gyro. A little more tweaking on this model and it should sparkle! Thumbs up so far.

Maybe so but the heatshrink prevents the carbon rod from wearing out on the support hole.

Rexxinpilot,
There are specific instructions regarding the rudder control rod and OS 55 carb in the manual. If you do it per these instructions you should not have to twist the carb.

I have to agree with Rexxigpilot about the tail slider, a threaded design might be better. This heli is amazing looking and I love how freaking big it is. I will fly it on Saturday to test it out.

When u don't feel like soaring through the air with a plane, beat it into submission w/ a heli!

I like the canopy shape, it just looks too big on the airframe. It looks like it has ears.
