I'm sure this has been asked before but are the dx7se gimbals fully ball raced or are there bushings in there. also are the latency advantages over the standard dx7 felt only with a dsm2 rx or would an ar7000 be fine in terms of speed. I understand the dsm2 gets you higher res

thx

AFAIK

The Se has the same gimbals as the standard dx7. The higher resolution you talk about can only be achieved by using a compatible receiver.

The Ar7000 works fine and I have used one with a standard dx7 for a couple of years now without problems. I must state I only fly sport aero not full blown 3D. If I was to upgrade I would wait for the new DX8 as this has the higher resolution and more functions.

Good luck

I had heard it was late july, but like most things we seem to be after release in US, so could be later.
I am looking forward to getting a look at it, with a full list of features.

Good luck

Its not DSM2, all DX7's are DSM2, you have to get one of the recievers that will run at 11ms like the 7100 to realize the difference.

ok got it.

for you guys running the dx7se+7100 and similar, are the response gains highly noticeable in flight over say a dx7+7000?

the reason why this whole thing came up is because i've been trying the standard dx7 with my t-rex 600e and it doesn't feel as responsive as my futaba 12fgh w/ r617fs rx.

it may not be a fair comparison though as my trex 600 is running 9252's on 5.8v vs my logo 600 w/ bls451's on 6v.

HA. Obvious quote from a Futaba fanboi. You missed the part where he is comparing it with BLS451's on the 12FG 2048 resolution vs 9252's on the DX7. Heck you could stick a DX7SE running 9252's and a DX7 running BLS451's and the DX7 will feel better. Worlds of difference between those servos. Stack up against the 12FG with a DX7SE and the same servos then report back. My odds are for the DX7SE feeling as locked in or maybe more so than the 12FG all while saving hundreds upon hundreds of dollars. This should be their new logo and slogan $$FUTABA$$ - "Lots of pay to play"

Yep you are right if you can keep the siginal linked up to the Spectrum system... Not to mention the feel of the higher end sticks and far superior programing options...

If you want the best sometimes you have to pay...

By the way, I used JR/Spectrum for about 26 years and the advent of DSM2 sent me to Fasst. No problems since...

that had me lol. I've been using DX7's since it has came out, I've never had a single problem with it losing signal. Better than any Futaba FM I had prior.

Hi guys

I have switched from a 14mz (pcm) to a DX7 to a DX7se to a 8FG.

There was a FEEL difference between the 14mz and the DX7, but not a big speed difference.

DX7 to DX7se, big speed difference and similar feel.

DX7se to FG8, BIG speed difference and a great feel.

ALL the switches were done on existing models. I found precision hovering where you could get the 'feel' difference. i guess it is a combo of speed and resolution.

I am NOT a super hot shot, anyone who says you need to me a 3d guru before you will appreciate the difference is missing the point. I is much like taking your Ferrari out for a drive on the straight highway at 55 mph...... it still feels great. better than a Toyota.

Regards
Paul

thx for your assessment pwood. this was not meant to be a spektrum vs futaba thread. i picked up the dx7 in a combo deal for my trex 600e. I like both the dx7 and the 12fgh but I'm not hard to please either. i was just wondering if I was missing a whole lot by not having the se model. since I've started the thread I have swapped servos between models and I've tried other bls servos as well. no surprise here, I like the 12 fgh more but it's also $700 more. I'm definitely keeping the dx7 and maybe at some point try out the dx8.
