Has anybody done this?

What would be needed?

Is it possible?

I don't hardly have 2 cents to offer on what it would take.......... but my answer would be sell it and buy a 6HV!! I think you would be happy.

I looked into it at one time, but by the time I added up all the stuff that needed to be changed, it was more than a new airframe.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I've decided to go for the 600e option. I've ordered all the parts to do the conversion...

Next questions...

What is the kV value needed for a motor? I'm looking at a Scorpion motor and esc. Li-pos would be a 5000mah 6s set-up. Main gear = 87t, pinion = 10t. I'm aiming for a 2200rpm headspeed. Does 900-1000kv sound right? (Any specific sugestions?)

What is the diameter of the motor shaft required on a 600e/6HV?

Greetings

Gunter

Gunter,

For a 6S setup you'd want something around 1000kv (stock Knight 6S motor was 980kv) However, I highly recommend you go with at least an 8S setup. 6S on a 600mm helicopter is harsh on batteries!

My Knight 600E on 8S is definitely more powerful than any 6S setup I've seen or flown.

The 8S Knight motor is 760kv.

Thanks chris, I'll definately keep that in mind. My main reason for the 6s config is that I can use the packs in a 90, ans in the 500 Knight.
