I think it just goes in cycles from brand to brand. One way to look at is, is that its never been cheaper to get a PREMIUM helicopter.

Why all the Vibes 50's for Sale?
High Part prices and newer, better heli's just released.

MA Furry 55
Senergy N5
Compass 3D +
Outrage Velocity 50
Raptor X50

When the Vibe 50 was new May of 2008 JR/Horizon priced the Vibe 50
parts to be competive with the ALIGN 600 part prices, then when
sales are down due to a bad economy and newer 50 size heli's
being released. JR/Horizon doubled the parts prices to help
their bottom line, effectively killing the Vibe 50 and many
stores decided to Dump the JR Vibe 50 infavor of the newer,
and more popular helis with better part prices. AMAIN Hobbies
is dumbing all JR Vibe 50 inventory along with PowerHelis,
and Espirt Models.

I must have missed this? please show me good reasons why
JR Vibe 50 Main frames went from $46.99 @ Readyheli to $99.00 @ RH
Why did a Vibe 50 Swashplate go from $35.99 @ RH to $105.99 @ RH
Why did a Vibe 50 fueltank go from $10.99 to $23.99 @ RH
Why did a Vibe 50 Landing gear set go from $10.99 to $24.99 @ RH
Why did a set of Vibe 50 flybar paddels go from $9.99 to $23.99
WHY????????????????????????????????????????

Why?
Was it inflation? No that kind of increase is not inflation
Was it currency exchange rates No

Answer =

Or a need to bolster sagging margins...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Looks like a last minute marketing strategy discussed over a cup of coffee...or maybe the (JR/Horizon) product manager forgot to polish his business plan...and if he's still on the job...looks like we'll be seeing less and less JR heli's in the field.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't think JR/Horizons new bussiness plan even took as long as a
cup of coffee?

It's a shame that JR part prices are so crazy expensive!
That is why you see so many people flying ALIGN T REX 700's

JR/Horizon's business model is just wrong, does it
make sense to sell only one helicopter a day and make
a $100.00 profit or does it make more sense to sell
1000 helicopters a day and make a $1.00 profit on
each?

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. Here we go again !!
The JR pricing thing has been done to death so many times now that even I am getting bored with it, and I try my very best never to get involved in debates about price or what brand of heli to fly.

Please, please lets kill this before it starts all over again. Lets just say that some pilots who had Vibe 50's just fancied a change, or felt like trying the latest greatest thing. It's their money and their choice and theres absolutely no problem with any of that now is there.

I've flown all of the heli's you've mentioned in your post and there's no doubting that they're all very good indeed, but in all honesty, none of them are night and day better than my Vibe 50. For me personally, I see no reason to spend my money on something that is not radically better, as I'd much rather spend it on fuel and improve my flying skills, but thats my choice. What do I mean by radically better ?? It's really simple: Will any of the heli's mentioned in the last post do anything that a Vibe 50 wont do ?? Honest answer (and let's be really honest here) is NO !! It's all down to the skill level of the pilot.

I was given a very good piece of advice a while back from a very experienced pilot that I'll always remember. He said "Parts prices are only an issue if you crash a lot and if you're crashing a lot, you're probably flying beyond your ability" !!

Nowadays there is no such thing as a bad model, as they're all very technologically advanced and getting better all the time. Like they say where I come from, "Fly what ever blow's your skirt up" !!

For the sake of peace (and my sanity) please can we drop the JR price
debate thing.

Peace guy's, remember thats its only a hobby after all. Let people across the world buy and fly what ever they want and lets agree not to influence their decision on any biased opinions.

Yes and the parts just last forever. I have 250 flights and simply no wear even the gears look great it's just redicoulos. I doubt that the new arrivals are that much better. The limiting faktor will be the pilot. But hey keep it going soon we will reach a level like with computers. Outdated the day you buy it lmao!! Till then I will pick up the cheap sales on Vibes and just laugh. Regards Pete

You might want to check elsewhere for Vibe parts if you still have one

Heliproz still has swashplates for 33.00
paddles for 8.99
fuel tanks for 11.99
The frames are 90.00 bucks but I really don't know how they sold them for 46.00 dollars anyway. A set of frames for a Rex 500 is more than that

Yes HeliProz still have Vibe 50 parts at the original prices
Pre JR/Horizon Gauge that went into effect March 2010.
Heliproz did not instantly raise all JR Vibe 50 prices like
ReadyHeli did. I no longer do business with ReadyHeli for
that reason.

This one is for you ReadyHeli

http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=199907

But you keep repeating yourself...

Its really not that complicated. You choose where you buy your stuff, and what brands you prefer... You cannot convince the entire heli community not to purchase from a certain retailer...

I hope I don't get in trouble for mentioning this, but ReadyHeli actually lost money on JR parts because they were selling them at the old prices even though they were buying them at the new higher prices from Horizon... They just never paid attention to it until the issue was brought up to them, only then they updated their website with new JR prices...

Since you're comparing shops, maybe the other retailer had a larger stock of JR parts that they bought before the price increase, and that is why they can afford to sell them at lower prices... And I guarantee you, they wont be selling at lower prices when they run out of parts and have to order from Horizon again...

My suggestion is to go and buy what you can afford and enjoy, because after all, this is a hobby... we have enough stress in our daily lives...

Happy flying.

G

Hi guys

I sold my Vibe 50 some time back and bought an Hirobo SDX...... i had to do it, i am a Hirobo man, and I wanted a baby Turbulence to match my Turbulence..... much like having a V50 and V90.

The truth be told, i miss my Vibe 50. It was probably the nicest 50 i have ever had.

Would i sell the SDX and go back to a Vibe 50, no. the SDX is also very good.

Regards
Paul
