Hi All,

I'm in the market to buy one of this flybarless system for my AP gasser heli. I have tried 3g Align and it fail horrible.

Anyone here has done this on your gasser machine Installing either Vbar or helicommand system please let me know which one work best and easy setup.

Thanks

I have not setup the helicommand but I will say that I helped a friend get his vbar working good on the century radikal. We did have to mess with different tapes because of the cold. I thought that some would get more brittle than others and we finally settled on the Zeal tape. For us it gave the most consistent characteristics. We have set up 2 different rates because when I fly it I want all the controls as fast as can be and when he flies it wants it more stable. I will also tell you not to over look the sk720 as it has lots of potential because of the vibration software and has a very nice feel in the air. I have limited time on the 720 but it was working good for us.

I have no experience yet with V-bar(maybe tomorrow), but I have set up many HeliCommands. Even after setting up close to 20 HCs, I still can't nail the set up. Sometimes I can get the position mode to work as it should, other times it might as well not be there. I have only used the HC Rigid mode for multi-blade scale helis though.

I had a vbar on my mongoose gasser, it really didnt like the vibes you get with the gasser and plowed itself into the ground. I was also using zeal tape and the heli had little vibes for a gasser. So think this threw before you try it because 800mm blades are spendy.

Just my 2 cents

While you didn't ask about a Skookum, I'll let you know that is an option. I ran an SK360 for a year and have been running an SK720 for almost 6 months. The only issue with vibration is related to self leveling and playback of the logs, but I have gotten vibrations and mounting down so most logs will playback.
