Well, I wanted to quote a few posts but don't see how other that copying and pasting stuff back and forth?!?!? I am used to having a button right there, that allows you to quote someone...cannot find it! I looked under Top FAQ's an its not saying anything about quoting someone! I looked under "Site Usage Rules - Members" - Nothing?!
I looked under "General Forum Usage" - Nothing!?

There you have it! The feature to simple press a button and quote someone is not there or at least it is not easy to find!

Why is this site only half as wide as other forums? Is it because 90% of people here still use an 15inch monitor???
Why not ask the owner rather than piss about it here?

Mike
Didn't know I was doing that?!?!

thanks,
G

p.s. I simply wanted to know why the site looks like this and not like 99% of all other sites out there?! No reason to attack me personally, is it?

You're making an assumption that the other 99% out there are considered desirable. Not everybody thinks like you . . . . or cares to.

If you can't handle the criticism . . . . don't throw the first punch.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONGER signature would be great.

I would also like more dropdown menus. That's what I love about Vbulletin. Instead of constantly change pages to boost the hitter on this site I would think for the user it would be much more efficient to have dropdown shortcuts. For instance on the posters name a dropdown that has PM, posts, and so on that would take you right to that.

I never bother the website's layout. It is ok to me. I come here just to offer/get help and do buy/sell.

Except the other 99% of the sites.

It sounds like he just wanted to offer a suggestion to improve the site. A couple of members suggested avatars which would be cool.

I am sure Mark is open to any suggestions that will help keep RunRyder fresh, relevant, and attractive to new users.

I never said they are more desirable than this or any other site!!! I simple stated the fact that other sites look different, desirable or not, and because so many sites look different, I have a good reason to ask why this one doesn't look like all the others! Very simple!
If you can't handle the criticism . . . . don't throw the first punch.
I can handle criticism. Telling me to go somewhere else or acting like I am trying to piss around, is not criticism its just a simple minded reply and in the way it is done, nothing else but a cheap attempt to make it personal!

thanks,
G

p.s. I must be right with what I said so far because all people do is telling me to ****-off rather than addressing my arguments! What about the width of the page and the quote button? Nothing?

That's what is was, I actually stated that I am looking forward to make people mad or enemies?!

I also noticed that I am not able to search in a forum directly other than going to search and THEN picking the forum I would like search in?!
OTHER forums offer a direct button that allows you to search that particular topic...

I almost knew that this was gonna happen! People identify themselves with something and act like their lives depend on it and dare you say something "negative" about it!

I am going to unsubscribe from my own thread...

thanks to all that had an opinion other than telling me to ****-off!

thanks,
G

I am probably not making any friend with this thread but . . . .
It sure looks like you knew exactly what you were doing with your first post.

You came in guns blazing, demanding that RunRyder change to suit your needs because it's the worst you've seen. Yet from the looks of responses, most are at least satisfied with this forum.

Still, instead of seeing that RR is making most of it's people happy and at best could do with a minor amendment here or there, you take the negative responses to your all caps opening insult as further evidence that you were right.

That made no sense to me. How does the reaction legitimize your demand?

If my neighbor's dog craps on my lawn and I get mad, does that make my neighbor's dog crapping in my yard ok?

I'm not telling you to (*&%^ off but I am saying that your style was abrasive with or without you even realizing it. You may feel victimized here but it was your opening line that started the war.

Why is it different? well simple because it is setup the way Mark wants it. As for the quote I like this style better then the button ones. I find the format and interface very easy to use and understand. Personally I feel if a person dont like the way it is they dont have to use it as I do not think anyone is forcing anyone to use the site if they do not like the layout.
I hope it never changes to much to be honest. One of the features I really like is the no avatars myself and the fact I can turn off viewing peoples signatures and smilies etc. Nice setup in my opinion. And with that and a buck and a half you may be able to buy a cup of coffee.

Without the avatars, flashy pictures, fist-pumping banana guys, etc, there is one added benefit that folks aren't really acknowledging...

It doesn't necessarily look like you are forum-surfing at work when you are forum surfing at work.

The ads already make the screen "busy" enough.

Lord knows it's not Mark's magnetic personality that's keeping them here!

RR is a work in progress with active (very expense) development. Interface re-design (new look) is not even on a very long to-do list (sorry).

Good news today, I got some stick time at the MHA FF field.
