I have a Triton Jr charger and an Equinox balancer. I would like to convert the Triton Jr charger from the DC clips to an AC plug. I do not want to have to clip the charger to a car battery to use it. How do I go about this change?

Thanks

PS - I e-mailed Great Planes, but they have not returned my e-mail.

You will not be able to do it with out doing some internal modifications to add an AC to DC power convertor. Your best bet and the easiest is to get an AC power supply and attach the charger to that using the stock DC leads. I converted an old PC power supply over just for this reason. I am using a Hobbico AccuCycle Elite which is a DC only charger. It's been working great and I can still use the charger at the field on DC power or at home on AC power.

If you try a direct connection to 120v without a power supply that is designed for 12v, then you will fry your charger......Ron

You might be able to find a 12VDC 5+amp AC/DC adapter at the source or whatever electronics place and solder on your own connectors. But like the other guys said, most folks either buy a power supply (expensive) or build their own from a PC power supply (cheaper).

I myself have done up a couple PC power supplies. They've been serving me well for a couple years now. Couple hours work can save you a bundle of cash.
