It's for law suits, you don't need a buffer pack on voltages below 6V (recommended to use below) which is the default setting.

I've never ran a buffer pack in any machine running Jive and I'm running currently 5 of them no issues.

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

I will be running 12s on the jive hv80. The higher the number of cells the less current you will be running. I was running 12s on the cc hv80 ice and the average amps was 15amps and peak at about 100 amps. My heli had crazy power.

here's what i read about 100A ICE ESC

""Welcome to the next generation of Castle air controllers, the Phoenix Ice series.

Phoenix Ice brings the ability to run at input voltages of up to 8S* (33.6) and use the built in switching BEC to output up to 5 amps of servo power all the way up to the 8S max*! ""

anyone trying out with 8s on their 100A ICE before?

and using the internal BEC...

The ice bec will absolutely not run decent standard sized servos on cyclic.

What you'll most likely see is flames if you run it with vbar on logo, see"logo on fire"

Common sense may not be common after all

i think to go on a 100A ICE..should get a Western RObotic BEC..

http://shop.radiocontrol-sports.com...&productId=2344

ICE 100 A = $133

Western BEC = $50

round up around $185

comparing to a Jive 100 LV at $360

its almost 50% of the price for a Ice 100A + WEstern BEC

True, just weigh out the model price and risk is all.
