I refuse to believe that futaba is not working on a flybarless units. Just like out a blue the GY701 is going to be release in the next few months. Futaba loves wait until everyone else does R&D and then come out with there unit late to market. There has to be someone that might know something about it. Give me hope.

You can go on beliveing what you want... That said it wouldn't be a wise business move on their part to bring out a FBL unit as there are already 6 manufacturers with them now... None of them are radio manufacturers... Too much saturation of the market at this point...

Wish all you like!!!

If Fubata made a FBL like there GY520 it would be hands down the winner... I'm waiting on my SK720 ships out on the 7th so they told me..

GY701

I really don’t see that there is any future of making big expensive tail only gyros these days. Not sure why Futaba would go to the trouble of making a new one.

Now that the international competation rules are getting sorted out I would expect that the big RC manufacturers (Futaba, JR, Hitec, and Airtronics) will be working on flybarless systems. From what I have seen it takes a year or two to sort out a new system so I would not expect to see anything on the market this year.

.

I also have another SK720 on pre-order. They are definitely the best at this time.

Ben,

The 701 is a tail gyro and governor together. You should look it up. It's pretty nice combo.

Not everyone will be flybarless , so there still is a large martek for it. I think eventual flybar heils will be obsolete just like mechanical tail stabilizers and mechanical gyros. This will take a long time.

Anyway I did hear some good news for a source. You can figure it out.

Still no market – everyone is going flybarless.

I think that it’s not very smart to spend that king of money on old technology. Once you have setup and flown a good flybarless system you will never consider going back to the old mechanical technology.

Anyway this thread is suppose to be about when will Futaba and the other RC manufacturers go flybarless. Has anyone heard of any factory prototypes flying.

One thing that Futaba needs to think about is the fact that with a flybarless unit like Skookum or Vbar the actual transmitter need only be very simple. Theres no point in paying for a top end radio if you are flybarless, because you wont use all the fancy mixes.

A low cost 9-channel FASST transmitter would be nice. The problem for Futaba is that they make transmitters for more than helicopters. Some sailplanes any other aircraft takes a lot of programming so I can’t see that they will make such a transmitter.

A low cost simple helicopter only 9-channel transmitter would be good for us but it would be a real up-hill battle talking Futaba into making one.

I would bet they all have significant RD $ going into FBL now. There is a lot of players now and it might take a year or two for it all to settle down to determine the winners and losers...

DO NOT GET AURORA FOR 3D if you just puts around fine but not for 3d i had one and wouldnt trust my heli with it i put it up in the air on the sim and kept crashing due to latency

LATENCY IS 53MS!!!!!!
HUGE DEADBAND
LOW RESOLUTION

spend 100$ more and get a 8FG or 9503 save yourself a headache i got the Aurora 9 sold it the next day and got an 8FG

Velocity 50 "99.9999999999999% of an atom is empty space." also 01001000 01001001

You kept crashing on the sim because of latency? I could be wrong but you are connected to the sim through a trainer cable and have no mixing enabled I highly doubt latency is the problem. 1024 resolution is a non issue in my opinion. Tons of pros have and still do fly 1024 radios in competition. I don't know about the dead band. That being said I would agree on the advice of buying a 8FG best radio I have ever used.
