I made this tall thick foam pad to mount my 3G sensor on for vibration dampening and it worked great!!

Well, evidently,my gel tape won't stick to foam when it gets hot out.

Buzzing my Trex 500 around the yard and the 3G sensor puck fell off

OMFG!!!
You ever have a gyro fall off in flight?
Imagine that gyro is hooked to all four servos.lmao...

Almost gave up for a second.I thought, hit throttle hold and bottom out the swash plate to save a couple servos but I stuck with it and got it on the ground safely.I had to sit down for a minute before I even went to the heli.

Now I have gel tape/plastic plate/gel tape/sensor puck.

Careful if you ever think of using foam under a gyro or FBL sensor.Make sure your fastening system is up to it.

I gotta go lay down.lol...

Great Save............

Never had one fall off but I had a guy yell at me once to help him and discovered that the gyro was reversed.

Wow VooDoo..that could have went south quick fast and in a hurry!
I had my tail boom slide out before and disengage the TT and there is not a very good chance of saving one when the tail blades stop.

Thanks for the compliments everybody. There was a whole bunch of luck involved.
Only damage is grass stains on the tail blades and main blade tips.It was really leaning when it landed.Hard left lean with full right aileron.Held it til it spooled down and settled on the skids.

I've looked at every tooth on every TT gear a dozen times and can't find any damage.Usually my Align helis break at least one gear in tall grass but this time it was sorta helping itself. While it was winding down,it tried to roll over left and forward so it actually held the tail up out of the grass by itself.lol....

There wasn't a whole lot of control to be had.Only timing.
It headed down in a spiral and I just pumped the collective until it was close to the ground with the skids down and then jammed it to the ground.

Can't believe it didn't tear something up.
I'm still looking.I've flown one pack since and I was a nervous wreck.
It did good though. Then came the rain
