From what I have read on another well known forum, Hobby King is no longer allowed to ship LiPo batteries due to shipping restrictions.

I may be wrong but according to the post this is what was relayed from Hobby King directly.

Restrictions on shipping lipo's is something that was discussed about 1 year ago and seems that those very restrictions are slowly going into effect.

Looks to have started with Hobby King since they have been shipping so many batteries to the US.

I was wondering about this. I know some manufacturers like Hyperion are shipping them as "split" packs where you have to connect a wire to make them useable. Here's an exerpt from their page:

"SPLIT" LIPO PACKS
Recent changes in international shipping regulations limit single cells to 20Wh, and packs to 100Wh. That means that the largest legal cell capacity is 5400mAh, and packs 4000mAh and up are internally "split" depending on their total Watt-Hours contained. Split packs can be identified on dealer websites by an extra "S" in the part number at the end:

Non-Split end in "-xS", like HP-LG325-4000-7S
while Split end in "-SxS", like HP-LG325-4000-S7S

Now today i recived another TT no. but this one i with CH i the end instead of HK as the first one. Still nothing when searching on the no. Both packs are under the limit of just bescribed regulations .

Hong Kong International Airport is conducting extra screening and creating delays on all orders with large batteries.
We advise customers to avoid ordering large Lipoly battery (above 2200mAh) for the next 14 days.

In some cases these parcels may be delayed at the airport for up to 4 days.
EMS/Air Parcel tracking will not show during this period.

Hobbyking will be increasing it's DHL/UPS offering to customers to help avoid these delays and increasing German and US warehouse stock.
We are in constant contact with 'AVSEC' the airport security company and will let you know as soon as the delays are solved.

So if I understand what your saying, you mean theres going to be no more ordering lipos from Hobyking which means everyone will have to buy packs like Thunderpower,Flightpower ect... the ones that cost ALOT of $$..

Screw that I'll go nitro before buying their cheap overpriced packs... I highly doubt they would stop selling cause that would b end of their business, maybe adding some cost to larger lipos

when did this all start cause I got packs not to long ago and they arrived in 4 days

^^ Thats what im saying,I just got my first 600E that will be here Sat or Mon.If what Mike said is true,i'll sale everything before even flying it .Im NOT paying $400.00 bucks for a damn 6 cell 5000mAh pack.Just bought 3 30C 5000mAh 6 cell packs,CC 85HV esc ect.. and would suck to sale everything because of this.I had to sale my nitro because of no time to get out with it anymore.Spending all my time with my 1 year 3 month old little one so bought the electric because I can walk out my back door for 5 mins when he naps.

I hope this is not true, its got me very worried.

I cant afford at the moment to go back to the bad old days when we were haveing to pay $350 for 1 6s pack.

I think this is when a representitive for a lipo manufacter will chime in or PM me that I have nothing to worry about, as he can sell me 6s 5000 lipos for only $270 with his special discount.

This sux bigtime, I hope its not true.

For real,im already having a fit paying $110.00 for 1 6cell pack.If I told my wife I had to pay $350-$400.00 for each pack, she would tell me to hope it runs on air and thats no joke LOL..

All they have to do is split the pack with an extra connector... Why would they go out of business because of that, it's not even to all packs just the big ones... If they do close I will move to a f22 with vector thrusting

I don't know when I'll get my stuff but Hobby City should post a notice on their website to keep people informed instead finding it the hard way!
That's why I buy all my LiPo from resellers here in the states. Plus in the event there is ever a problem I can call them up and get them on the phone.

They will never stop selling lipos. The worst that could happen is they will have to offer shipping by boat and it will probably take at least a month to get to you but it's better than nothing.

There are other options available here in the US as we speak. Those packs offer a 50% off crash replacement for LIFE and are only slightly more expensive then HobbyKing.

Plus, you would be supporting a US based business and it's families.

What name brand packs are only slightly more than a Hobby King Lipo? Just wondering because I know Thunder Power and the like are WAY more than Hobby King lipos. Hyperions are probably the best priced one out there that I know of but they are still considerably more than the Hobby King lipos (they do rock though). Just curious because I'd rather order stateside if possible.
