AlGores Divorce, Harm the Earth

June 1, 2010

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: I'm still waiting to confirm this, but it's reported that former Vice President Algore and his wife Tipper are separating after 40 years of marriage -- which, if this is true, has gotta mean global cooling, not global warming.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: AP, ABC, everybody is now confirming that Al and Tipper Gore are separating, splitting up, I haven't heard the word divorce, but different residences. And it reminded me, we went back to our archives... (interruption) What are you laughing at? This is not something funny, Snerdley. The separation is not funny. What's next is a little funny, 'cause I remember this from the archives. December 3rd, 2007, NewScientist.com: "A rising tide of divorce is taking a huge toll on the planet, warns a groundbreaking analysis of the environmental impact of divorce. The environmental cost of a marriage splitting occurs because couples and their families move into separate properties after divorce - meaning they collectively occupy more space, burn more energy, and consume more water than they did as a family unit."

Now, how does that work? I can understand two households adding to the electricity grid and so forth. But are they drinking more water than they would if they were living in one house? Well, they're still going to do the laundry at the other house. I mean, separate loads. This is all ridiculous. This is all ridiculous. We try to logically analyze this and it breaks down after 20 seconds. It's all ridiculous. We have this giant story here about how a divorce contributes to global warming. Well, fine. For today I'm going to say it's true, but I love this stuff when it comes back and bites these advocates. Divorce contributes to global warming? That's right.

"'Divorced households are smaller than married households, but consume more land, water, and energy per person than married households,' says Jianguo Liu of Michigan State University in East Lansing, US, who carried out the 12-country analysis with colleague Eunice Yu. In the US, for example, 627 billion gallons of water, the use of 38 million rooms, and 734 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity would have been saved in 2005 alone if no-one had got divorced." Can you believe this? Let me go through this again: 627 billion gallons of water, the use of 38 million rooms, 734 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity would have been saved in 2005 alone if no one had got divorced. "In the same year, divorced households spent 46% more on electricity and 56% more on water per person than if they had stayed married. And following a split, US households consumed 42 to 61% more resources per person than while married."

Now, why would this be? We're going to have to put our thinking caps on for this. Following a split... Well, let's look at Algore and Tipper here. They're going to split up here so it's going to happen. US households consume 42 to 61% more resources per person than while married. How is this possible? What is Tipper going to do while living alone or separately from Algore that she wasn't doing with Algore? Turn up the air-conditioning? (laughing) I guarantee you Algore's air-conditioning is running at full blast like his heater is in the summertime, and all four of his 30-inch computer displays, too. No, no, no, no. US households consume 42 to 61% more resources per person than while married. So what is Tipper going to have or do after she splits up with Algore than if she were living with Algore -- and for that matter, what's Algore going to have or do differently from Tipper when they split up? Anyway, this is worth thinking about because the environmentalist wackos have put this notion up there that divorce contributes to global warming, and here is a Nobel Peace Prize winner now contributing to his own crisis.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Regarding the Algore divorce: Who gets the Internet? Well, it's a legitimate question! And who will get Love Story 2? They inspired Love Story, right, the book by Erich Segal? Algore told us that. So will there be a sequel to Love Story? "Goral" cooling is happening out there.

Now Tipper can set the thermostat to wherever she wants and turn on all the lights in the house without having to listen to the inventor of the internet.

I say shes jumping the global warming ship before it sinks! Once the scam is fully exposed he wont be worth a cent and will have ( sort of like now ) no credibility! Might as well take half now!

my point is that if a man decides to divorce his wife after such and such number of years it's really nobody's friggin' business.

why are all you climate change deniers acting like a bunch of gossipy women over the private matters of someone who you don't even know?

carry on Dennis, maybe your constant rantings might get Obama divorced too - while he's in office! And to think you Christians support strong family values.

regarding his private life: no you don't.

that's the end of it.

if it were amongst your circle of acquaintances you wouldn't be gossiping like this, it would be considered disrespectful.

Is that an order? Or, is that just your opinion?

BS. AlGore himself is one of the most disrespectful public person out there.

no it's not - it's just good manners.

if in ten or twenty years time I can't return to my favourite resort in the Maldives because the entire country is underwater I'll have you lot to blame. I would be mad and disrespectful too.

oh, and Dennis:

back to you.

Oops. Excuse my manners.
