Any suggestions?
I have the align 600n with factory govenor. I have ot buy a reciever and was wondering if I should stay with the factory govenor or and save roughly $70.00 or spring for the AR7100r and take off the factor y govenor. What do you think? Which one is easier to use? I have no experience with either one at this time.

The AR7100R has just a rev limiter, but some like this over a governor. I do like the back-plate sensor that comes with the AR7100R which just bolts onto the bottom of the engine.

No experience with the factory governor, but the AR7100R limiter is a piece of cake to use. It was my first experience with any throttle feedback. I used the table in the manual to select the appropriate governor values for idle up 1 & 2 (based on gearing and Tx type), and hit the target headspeed almost exactly.

I had the little plastic mount that hold the sensor in the engine backplate break on about the 4th flight, but I bought the "rugged" version from Spektrum, and it is doing fine.

AR7100R Hands down!
Some argue the point of "all inclusive" components but it flat out fills the requirements needed for today's R/C Helicopter guys.
-Step down for servo's you want to run on step'd down voltage
-Open plugs for full in voltage to something like 7.4 2S packs should you choose to run your cyclic on high voltage.
-Built in Rev-Limiter so no need for "tag along" extra electronic units.

I installed one on my 700 and will NEVER USE another receiver but the AR7100R unit...

Enough said, Other receivers are a substitute for the best of the best!

+1 for the 7100R. I run them on all my nitro helis. Works like magic.

But if you have the align governor already and a receiver laying around. You can just buy a rev limiter bracket and attach that on the align governor so you dont have to use the magnets.

All you have to do is cut a few wires. Attach the positive wire of the governor to the rev limiter's negative wire and vice versa.

Hope this helps...
