trying to locate the source of a noise in my t-rex 500 while in flight. No noise in hover or easy forward flight but while doing some aggressive cyclic and pitch movements. sounds like a metallic vibration but can't find anyhting loose or excessive play. just need some ideas on what and where to start looking. thanks

belt drive or TT? the belt can start banging around pretty good on an aluminum boom if it's a little loose and makes a pretty ugly sound. personally, i like to run a belt a little loose and get used to the noise--so long as that's all it is.

if it ain't broke, break it.

I think its the motor, Ive had a couple go the same way after a couple of months or so, it sounds like a bell ringing sortof.

It did not seem to affect performance in any way but just got louder and louder over time until I put a new one in.

+1 for motor bearings, also seems to cause the odd tail flick in mine when they are on their way out.

Try putting some tri-flow on the bearings and see if that fixes it.

It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine!
