some of you might remember my post of "love my gasser", well that is fading fast. was flying great, then I put on the "correct" (larger) carb. well since that its been not fun at all, nitemares of weeks past. the fuel lines have no tees or check valves in them, just a coupler (an old empty fuel filter). at the begining of the flight it flys fine, just a little bulble. with in 5 mins, slowly the revs come up, never mind I have a gov on it. and slowly keeps getting higher. It will idle fine, great, but keeps leaning out. Have the zrc aluminum spacer plate. the 643 carb the stock Min Air fuel pick up in the fuel tank, stock zenoha air filter. It did run great with a wt 167 carb(much smaller) . help please, im going to MHA but dont want to dink with this crap all the time, will be flying the nitro if the gasser gives me the poops.

oh yea, last week with the wrong carb flew 3 times back to back no problems. I do notice the primer bulb, i can get full on either 643 carb i tried, and when run it, it goes half empty

Did you shorten the carb bolts so they don't hit the Z-RC insulator?

good point, mine did that (when I had a gasser), before someone mentioned in a post on here.
Sure enough, the bolts were pushing the insulator out of position, and it was leaking.

For the love of the hobby

Possibly your problem

the stock Min Air fuel pick up in the fuel tank,
You may recall quite some time ago I posted about this saying that over time the stock ceramic clunk gets plugged up and causes havoc. I recommended people use the Walbro 615-912 felt clunk, you will have no issues with that one.

If you do a search I'm sure you'll find that thread. I would start by replacing the clunk, BEFORE you get to MHA so we can sort anything remaining there if necessary.

And then, the honeymoon will resume

Primer bulb

Mine acted like yours till I put some foam
around fan shroud and blocked hot air from
blowing on carb
min has a plate to do the same thing
now mine stays ok and also doesn't sputter
when you go inverted
hope this helps

Tim's right, i had the same problem and i put a thin piece of material between the carb and main fram to block the heat from the motor, MA. sells a shield for this problem.

hmm

Check for air leaks in your carb as well as fuel system. Both can cause similar results.(lack of fuel or too much air)

carb bolts were too long, I had the teflon gskt. bent out of the way. shortened bolts, fixed gskt. pulled fuel line off carb, with full tank fuel comes out, but very slowly. tring to find a felt clunk, buy Friday.

latest update, replaced the clunk with a nitro style, worked great, great fuel flow, poured out of the line great. About 5 min of good flight. then its starts too lean out again!!! Revs increase, plug is grey(dark) but thats from me breaking in the motor. I did notice that the carb is hot, more than i would think, Im going to install the carbon fiber air deflector plate from Min Air. hummmmmm

I had a motor that would run away on RPM"S even with a governor. Turns out that I had run to lean and messed the cylinder and piston up. If you ran the motor with to long of bolts on the insulator you most likely were leaking air causing it to run lean. If you continue to have problems I would check the cylinder. Good luck
