Hi

I am probably missing something obvious but I cannot hear any sound on Jan's video about how to apply the decals to the canopy.

I have tried in Quicktime and movie player but I think I am missing the codec. Can anyone either point me to the correct codec or just tell me the measurements that he uses to mark the position of the decals please? I think I can work out everything I need from the "silent instruction movie" but I need the measurements.

Many thanks to anyone that takes the time to reply

Regards

Simple, you first measure the middle decal of the windshield (tip to tail and side to side of the tail)then lay the measurements on the canopy. You can now watch the video in silence.

I just did my spare canopy and it took 30 minutes.

You will love the way it flies. It's unlike any other machines out there, light, nimble, fast and much more!

Stickers look nice if done right, but I am sending mine off to get painted. The rest of the heli looks great, why should such a good looking bird suffer cause of my non artistic ability

Still better than the old blank canopy from the MPXLE etc.

I think once you have done the stickers the 2nd time round would be easier for sure.

Truth is think I'll get my custom done with stock config inspiration, I'm kind of digging the stock decal shapes look and layout overall.

I am still struggling to get this video to work properly.

Would someone please be kind enough to watch the video with sound and tell me the measurements that Jan recommends.

I know I can measure the middle sticker but I just want to be sure I am doing it correctly. I don't want to mess up the canopy they look so good :-)

Thanks to anyone kind enough to take the time to help.

I would not be too worried i applied them without measurements or video, if using soapy water it should be ok. It would be nice if Jan included a CD of the video as I do not like downloading large files.

Just to help anyone out that is searching for the same answers I was.

I did my canopy tonight and I am pretty pleased with how it turned out. I did not manage to "hear" Jan's video yet but I followed the advice given hear and measured the center decal.

I measured 34.5 cm back from the tip of the canopy along the join line and made a mark. I then made a mark 2.5 cm either side of my original mark on the join line. I used these marks to align the edges of the side decals and that worked out just fine for me.

Maybe I even get to fly it this weekend :-))))

Regards to all

a lot of the video is silent because the original was in german and he did a voice over but he talks a lot less than in the original. So perhaps you were getting sound and didn't know it!

the measurements are 50mm back and 25mm out. If you can't use a pen (black canopy) then use a sticker to mark the point.

The decal material is quite flexible it will stretch or compress if you are patient pushing the bubbles of water out to the edges then tapping everything down.

I'm just wondering with mine if those little bubbles left over will as he says just vanish - it has been a day and so far, they have not - or I'll have to get a pin for them all!

Air bubbles should go away after a bit of time. Sometimes you can get a spot of dust or dirt under the decal. This will leave a bump that will always be there.
