Pluse 1 for Ray Hostetler.

If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter.

Agreed - the Ray Hostetler book and DVD's are EXCELLENT - explains the why, in addition to the what, so gets you thinking the right way and understanding what you are doing. Some of the advice might be a little dated but the fundamentals don't change.

ok so I followed the videos I saw online and they were great. I really learned a lot from them and can see how off I was in my build.

I have a concern where I could not make the

step one, I reset the radio and set the right swash type
step two, I verified all trim settings and mixes to zero
Step three, I centered the stick and then the servo arms using sub trim after finding close to center placement.
Step four, I set the swash plate flat with equal length rods
Step five, I set the Metal washout arms level
Step six, I leveled the upper most washout arms.

The issue I have is that I bottomed out the little plastic ball link ends and could not make one set of the arms perfectly level. They are close and maybe 1-2mm off from center. I found that the Trex500 ESP build manual lengths they called out way off from what I ended up using to level everything.

Any advice on the ball link end issue?
