i have a os 37 with curtis youngblood pipe and running coolpower15% fuel. I am looking for little more power BUT also trying to keep it cool to. the top end is really rich but engine is still getting hot so i richen up the midrange a little so i can lean out the top end a little more. is there a FINE line when to rich and to lean?? using the finger test. people tell me its suppose to stay cold all the time. only getting 9 min on my raptor with header tank

Smaller engines run hotter to the touch there is less mass to shed the heat. You could run 30%, be rich and produce more power, the smaller displacement engines thrive on it. You are not using that much so cost should be minor, the improvement will be noticable. Set the top end at full throttle and take note of the smoke trail,( should not diminish), watch for the engine slowing down,( producing less power), if that happens fix right away don't wait, richen.

i tried 30% and to be honest i can't tell the difference except the engine runs hotter. As it's stand i only get 10 min for a raptor 30 to me is not that good. the only fuel that made a night and day difference was s@w fuel which you never find here anyways. Do i need to do a better job tuning??

Yes keep working on tuning, small changes until you gain experience with the engine. Keep an eye on the smoke trail and if the engine seems like it is sagging back up. A click or two at a time until you gain confidence.

A Hatori SAB6RS and 30 percent should run cooler, you probably didn't richen the needle when you changed maybe?

I ran a 37 on 15 for 3 years. Close, for me, to stock settings worked great. Great motor, no 50, but bullet proof and runs great.
