I don't see many people running out to grab a 700E, what gives? they look nice, is it the cost to support them? or?

You're kidding right? Most places are sold out and just do a quick search through the forums, here and else where, plenty of activity.

There will never be the numbers of these sold compared to the 600 and smaller because of the cost of lipo / parts compared to the smaller machines and some just don't like flying the bigger machines.

That said, the cost of Lipo is falling thanks to our friends at HK so the numbers may start rising.

I bet ya there will be more of these sold than any other 90 electric about to come to market.

I do see them sold out in some stores and yet there are still plenty of them to be found on Ebay for example and well below street price from many of our US dealers with a great reputation.

I think the 700 looks great and I want one now to just snap one up.

Large helicopters fly a lot better than small ones. It’s much easier to learn 3D. In the past the problem was battery cost but with the cost of nitro fuel going up and the price of LiPo battery now 1/4 of what they were a few years ago large electrics are more practical. Electric helicopters also have better performance than nitro.

If you can afford to get a 700E go for it.

A 550E and a 700E is the perfect fleet because you can use the same batteries in both.

I have a 500ESP right now and like a good heli junkie I'm looking to add another. I'm still very limted in my flying/building skills. I can build up a nice heli and I take my time to try and set it up right. I flew my 500ESP recently and for a first flight it went very well. It tracked nice and only needed a little trim. I know my throttle and pitch trim are off but it's flyable. I'll be looking later in the forums for build advice (I see a lot it).

I used to have a nitro 90 several years ago and that flew great, nice and stable. I'm not sure how much more enjoyable to fly the 550E is over the 500ESP to justify picking one up but the 700 is a nice jump in size.

Can you fly the 700 on 30C 2650 6 cells batteries? or I guess I should say would it be appropriate?

I wouldn't go smaller than 2 x 5000mah @ 30c.

no a 700e flies on 12s 5000 packs so you would use 6s 5000 packs... ur 500 packs are too small, but i would say if u want another heli just keep the 500 and buy a 700... i would rather have 2 different helis than use the same packs for 2 helis and have to share

you could use the 500 for trying new stuff to have a cheaper crash cost and carry it to fly after work or something and use the 700 for weekend flights

Those are way too small. They quickly overheat and probably puff on the first flight.

The problem with the 500 is that it’s really a 425. A 550 is a real 550 so it’s quite a bit larger. The 550 uses 5000 6s packs.

The 550e is a real 520 if you say the 500ESP is a real 425....

and a 450Pro is a 325....

and a 600ESP is a 600...

and a 700e is a 690...

So you are saying that if I install 550 blades they will hit the tail rotor

Mavrikk 550 wide chord blades are what I have and was planning on using.

It's really just based on what they can handle, aligns pilots like 520s better but it can handle 550s...

What is a good flybar 500 worth these days? I may be putting one on the market in a month or so.

^^^ I thought about selling my 500 as well, but I bring it to work every sunny day because it is small enough to carry around.

the 500's market value is unfortunately way down since the birth of the 550. Once that heli came out everyone has been trying to unload their 500

It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine!

I'm not sure why, the 550 is closer to a 600 than a 500... I'm keeping my 500 for low crash cost since the 550 is bascally the same as a 600... Once the hype of the 550 goes down people will start buying their 500's back
