I have the ATG on 2 helis now. This is the first time I have run this governor. Just installed them on my 2 heli's. The set up was straight forward and both governor are working.

I am operating both governors in the normal mode function . My question is, when I go from normal mode to Idles ups while flying the rpm transition takes a little bit of time. Not at all like my old GV-1 took for time. It does this on both helis. Is there a way to make the governor transition RPM's faster?

Thanks Chris

How close is the sensor? I think a delay was built into the v3 for safety reasons. Since it prevents a sudden change in hs and gives gyro time to react instead of whipping around.

My Posts This: Topic Forum Yes it is normal. It is a safety situation. We have no way of knowing what head speeds a person might be switching from, as well as what type of other equipment they might be using. Meaning that for instance if you switched from say 1500 RPM to 2100 RPM between flight modes bad things could happen. If you were using a less than adequate gyro this head speed jump could cause the tail to kick quite violently. This kick could cause a serious problem for a lot of pilots, and could lead to a nasty crash or worse. For this reason we choose to have a delay pre-programed to address this potential issue.
I thought I remembered the delay was built in also. Brian from CY explains it all. Your ATG is functioning normally.

Thank you, that clears it up. I wish there was a option to decrease the delay. Oh well... It works.
