I have a six cell 22.2 V 5200 mah lipo. when i charge it and watch the balance volts on the individual cells. Do i need to stop charging as soon as one of them reaches 4.2 V ? even if the others have not? don't want to overcharge but if i wait for all cells to reach 4.2 a couple would be at 4.3 or 4.4. thanks for any help.

Are you sure you will have some of them over charge??? Have you let it charge all the way or have you stopped it because you think it might over charge? It will help it you tell us what charger your using. I use a Hyperion and when my packs charge some of them will reach peak voltage before others. As it continues to charge it will take and balance the cells correctly. Your only talking .1 to .2 volts so it isn't much to worry about.

a .2v over charge can do some major damage to a battery.

Thanks for the input, lol i am using a thunder A-6 charger. while some may be at 4.0 other cells are at 4.4 i just didn't know if i should let them get that high. i had heard that they should not be over 4.2. so when one would get there. i would stop charging to be safe. Satch

I guess it is the charger. i got another lipo battery and cell one will go to zero while cell two jumps to 7.4 and then it goes back to normal. but after awhile it just comes up with a cell connect error.
