futher info on LT head blade holders...

Some folks were wanting to know more facts as ask in this thread...
I was told that Century is still evaluating this whole investigation

It has still not been determine what exactly caused the failure even with a known model with no prior damage...Stress test and materials test will continue with the old design to see if maybe it can be singled out. We may not never know.
Otherwise, the new holders are beefed up considerably taking no chances to insure the confidence of the plastic blade holders.....

Perception is everything...
Many times designs are proven to be sound but if the customer feels that there is a weakness the only recourse is to beef it up and move on. I do like the notion that Century is taking the time and the EXPENSE to do the testing. A company that wants to know is a company that will succeed.

didnt realize the sticky had the rest of the threads in the gasser forum locked out.

Edit: Woops, it was early in morning and I thought greyeagle was being serious and didnt understand the comment. Now I realize it was just taking another shot at Century. Need to not post until my second cup of coffee for now on....Oh well

For the adrenaline junkie pilot:
"Buy a Radikal, the tail grips fall off and the main blades fly away"

That's like Align advertising the 700 grip failures or Toyota "Toyota gets you moving - stopping can be a problem"

Seriously I think its laudable and fair to have the warning as a stickie for a 'reasonable' period for folk that might have bought one second had,, but the onus should have been for a parts recall through the vendors..

Those new grips look nice and beefy. They appear to be very durable.

Yes, lets mention it again since we don't want Greyeagle to look like he was influence by anyone to mention this in the first place. And while we are at it we'll bad mouth the Radikal..

You're welcome.

You mean we don't mention Radikal blades flying off in a post warning folk about grip failures?? Are we getting totally stupid here and without any sense of humour? I thought my ad was funny..

Almost completely off topic

Lets bash Align instead..

I went flying with Ivan. He flew his 12S700e I had my 500. I took off and the one-way stripped. Ivan leant me his 500's gears. I took off and the cheap blades I was using just wouldn't track. Ivan gave me his 500's carbons. I fiddled with bits of Ivan's 500 and got mine flying sweet. And few his lipos...

We're in the air together and got a bit close..then I realised..it doesn't matter..most of my heli is Ivan's

I am a little disappointed, i have been away for a few weeks, come back to read this thread and sent an email to Century for the metal head combo deal, only to be told not anymore.(really irritating as the offer is still posted on this threads first page)

It is hard to fly Century down here as there is no local support, Bobby takes care of me when he can but Century are not very interested in the international customers.

I keep getting directed to my national distributor (what a joke).

I applaud Century for raising the blade grip issue, i just wish they would be more welcoming of international customers.

we can never have too many, can we ?

The distributor makes a contract with the OEM to handle the customers end. If that is not happening then you and everyone in your area should tell Century of the bad service. The idea is to get another distributor to take over the region.
