Almost forgot you will need to reverse the motor in the HW ESC.
Depending on how easy it is to get to you can also just change any two wires over on the motor to reverse its direction.

yes you can reverse the wires but if you follow, the other speed controler wiring you will need to reverse it.

Well I have received the new tail rotor output shafts (H47T021XXW 470L Metal Tail Rotor Shaft Assembly), but there is a slight problem. It appears that the shaft length between the tail rotor gearbox halves is slightly shorter than the original shaft. I measure 15.35mm on the original and 15.30mm on the new shaft. This allows the output shaft to have play between the gearbox halves. I have seen this before on Align belt driven tail rotors.

I have yet to find an appropriately sized washer to remove this play.

I found some thin shims of varying thicknesses in my spare parts cache. They are the same diameter as the gearbox bearings. It took a .06mm and .07mm shim to remove the play in tail rotor output shaft. I installed them in the bearing recess on the vertical stabilizer side of the gearbox. I would bet that a large number of the 470 tail rotor gearboxes have some play in that shaft. Maybe Align can provide a package of varying width shims with each set of output shafts like they do with main shafts?

I am having a problem with my Hobbywing Platinum PRO v4 60A doing the initial throttle calibration.

When the esc is plugged into power, it will not do the sequence of beeps described in the manual.

I've adjusted the throttle atv to 140% at full throttle to see if that's the problem but no luck.

Any Ideas??

I found the way to calibrate the throttle travel for the ESC on the Governor basic setting II tab in the Vbar software. There is an option to select throttle servo adjustment through the collective. You get direct throttle control without the governor turned on which allowed the ESC to setup properly..

I have been running 3400 on the 450 Pro 6s conversion, so with the bigger blades on the 470, 3250 rpm as max speed should work well. The head speed calculator shows 3342 as max with a flat battery, so governed 3250 should have plenty of headroom.

After looking at the pdf manual, I found a warning on page 23 that for safety reasons, the max head speed should be limited to 3200rpm. It's funny that the paper manual in the kit does not state that limit.

Does anyone have an idea of the PMW rate for the Align 470MX Brushless Motor(1800KV)? Been looking at several sources but haven't found it.

Also, if you have the timing for it that would be nice too.

Thanks

I just purchased a 470.

I have been looking around for parts. I can't find damper rubbers, thrust bearings and a few other things.. where are these common parts?
