Starting a new build and I see this ESC has an adjustable BEC output from 5 to 7 volts.
Does it require an external BEC?
Can I just power the RX with the ESC?

The ICE 100 has a internal BEC. But if you wish you could install a external BEC. On my T-rex 500 I use the ICE's BEC but on my Logo 500SE I use a separate BEC.

I'm doing a Trex 600 and will use the internal BEC since I can.
Thinking about 8S too.

My 3G FBL is back ordered. So is the CC Ice.
Actually,I'm haggling a lot price at my LHS for everything.

Can't wait to get started.
I love new projects.

I sold my Trex 500 with Helicommand 3D BNF for $750 for parts money but still waiting on money.
May have to sell it again

CC suggests to use a separate BEC when going bigger then 500 size. That is why I'm using a separate BEC on my Logo 500. I'm using the CC pro BEC. Your choice.

Yes I would say, built in one isn't much cop for anything larger than 450 sized.

mckrackin,

I have the ICE 100 on my Trex-600ESP and I run the BEC PRO with it. Do NOT use the built in BEC for this size. The listed BEC capacity is overrated, unlike the Kontronik JIVE 80+HV ESC with the built in BEC where you can safely use it even in a 90 size heli.

ICE 100

So it is safe to use the internal BEC with a TREX 500?
