this picture was taken today. at a fly in we had this is a real photo. no tricks how the helicopter landed. the pilot lost a linkage and it landed like this EXPENSIVE LAWN DART and he was pretty high up

That doesn't actually look too expensive, at least motor, pipe, electronics, canopy and the head survived.

LOL, reminds me of my ZeroG a few years ago. Was doing some tail down tictocs when the receiver crystal broke; heli made a tail dive to terra firma and planted itself rather nicely. Amazingly, only damage was the whole tail section and main gear as the boom was split like a banana when it was rammed into the main gear.
