I need a pro's advise .I am about to by 5 gyros. My research lead me tog800,spartan760,and this new quack gyro.I heard from the grapevine that the pg800 is the way to go as far as price and performance compared to the Spartan 760.Then here comes this new quack gyro flapping on the scene. This duck, they say is the 760 improvement. I don't know what route to go now. Please, please somebody help me.I need the best gyro.Got to have the best gyro. All you pros out there, I value and highly respect your options. I'm new to this web site and amazed with this fellowship world.Information highway! !!!.I recently bought the gy520 and by far, far, far,is the best gyro I've ever owned. I now want to try( one )of the other 3 and give it a try.Witch one?????????.Price doesn't matter, performance does. I have 7 choppers to upgrade.

Although I have not heard of the pg800. The rest of the gyros you mention are excellent.

And don't take this wrong, but if you have to ask. The cheapest one will work for you.

When you start doing tail slides, piros (constantly) and backwards flight, that is when you start seeing what a gyro will and will not do.

the "quack" gyro is in fact called the quark.

the pg800 is a clone, a cheap one at that, of a spartan 760. i have discussed this a lot in the past so won't dwell on it. search if you wish. the fact is it's a poor quality with limited settings and warranty options so i personally wouldn't buy it for those alone.

if you have to upgrade your helis why not give your money to those that do the good work for our hobby such as futaba, spartan, CYE etc.

if i was buying right now i'd buy the quark, 520 and mini g in that order.

cheers

quark gyro
Thank you raptorheli2 for your pro opinion. I value and respect it.So you would choose the quark over the Spartan 760.If so you have greatly helped me with my purchase decision. Thank you.

Lots of good gyros these days. Most of them have become extremely capable of holding the tail during fast backward flight through all kinds of conditions with very good piro consistency..It would be hard to find one now that is a vast improvement over the others. Playing field has become very even for overall performance and the new trend for product development seems to be focused around program features and customization of how you prefer the way the tail feels during flight...Spartan DS760, spartan quark, Mini-G, GY520,...The list goes further...

Its also marketed as the Inertia 860.
Has very good reviews, and besides the clone wars discussions, there isnt much negative to say about its performance.

For the love of the hobby

If you want an honest and real answer from a real pro who has actually owned and flown both of them tech3rcheli has put them both to the test. Hes an incredible pilot and I would trust his judgment and advice any day.

I have owned and flown both (Spartan and Inertia), back to back, on the same heli.
Performance wise, I could not pick the difference.
I prefer how the Spartan feels, but thats very subjective, and not a deal breaker by any margin.

Sounds like a PG will get ya by bro, but seriously, i do fly hard, and have flown a pg gyro, and found that it held well for hovering, but had a different piro rate each time ya piro fast.... that would be about the only negative id say about it. But not in the same class/league/ballpark as miniG, spartan, and my own personal favorite, the 520.

Dont buy 5 of em, whateva ya do lol.

Buy one of each of the ones listed in this thread, and try em out for yaself.....

Derek, my friend - I don't think you are listening to these nice folks. ANY of the top of the line gyros are going to work GREAT. Sparten, Fuaba 520, etc.

Heliguy is giving you sage advice - buy several different ones. But in the end they are ALL going to be much better than you'll be able to discern.

You already have a 520. What's it NOT doing that you want it to do?!

The producers state that this gyro is a quantum leap over all gyros.
They also say it is the smallest gyro on the market but it's not that either!

cheers
