Hello, I am fairly new to RR and this is my first post. I have purchased several items on RR and have researched/read many posts to you educate myself. I started a year ago with a CX2 then about 3 months ago purchased a sim and Blade 400 from here. Since flying the 400 I have been hooked. I have crashed the 400 many times but then would immediately repair and go back at it. I pretty comfortable hovering, FF , but no nose in hovering. I am on the sim everyday.

Now for what I need help with and advice......And I ask with much consideration and respect for the time, commitment and knowledge you have. I did some trading this week with a guy for my non-heli stuff and his X-cell heli. I need help identfying what exact heli I have. I have looked at many websites and read many post from different forums to see what it is. Is it an X-Cell Graphite 1005 , 1006 , X-cell XL Pro2...???? Here is what I can tell you from physically looking at it. Canopy has "X-cell XL Pro 2" sticker, tail has "XL" cut out in the fin, the purple head is stamped with "XL Pro",
the engine is a "Zenoah G230puh". Also the guy threw in 6 new Hitec hs-645mg servos, and a new Futaba Gy401/S9254 combo. Are the Hitecs adequate for the cyclic/throttle and the 401/9254 suffcient for the rudder? What size blades, 700mm? Thank you for your comments and help. Eric

looks like a 1005, with some changes, the swash anti-rotation is upgraded. Never seen the pink parts before. The HI 645 is ok, just analog and not the latest, but 133 / 106 oz/in at 4.8/6 V. See if you can locate a SE front end to install, makes a nice heli. You can still get parts without a problem.

I'd say its a Xcell 1005 graphite gasser with upgraded parts.

Im not sure how the parts got purple as they should be gold...but it looks in great shape and those helis fly very well...I have the XL 30,40, and 60.

put some 700mm blades on it and go. Parts are still avail through MA. those hitecs should be plenty for swash duty and the 401 gyros and its servo are great also.

fly with confidence.

Gas / Graphite 1005 - Nice
The purple or pink part's are from some one spraying them with blue dye indicating fluid " dychem" Just wipe it off if you don't like it with lacquer thinner or acetone. " Will turn your hand s blue though"

She's the original daddy rabbit prior to the Spectra. I have one stock, then took another and converted it to what is called a SE conversion. We add different front end tray.

It's got a pretty current tail box - prior to the metal ones and it also has a upgrade I wish I had on both of my birds and that's the constant auto rotation main gear.

She's kinda the ole work horse of gasser's - their one on here that's kinda the madam of the bordello - Just ask ! I think she's had over 1000 flight's - Ole Raja will chime in I'm shure.

Part's will alway's be around -fly with confidence !

Thanks for the help guys!

pphil611 and GREYEAGLE: Is the "SE", special edition and was it an upgrade kit to the stock 1005? I have seen some info about an Xcell 99SE. When you reference the SE front end, are you talking about replacing the front two electronic trays with graphite ones?

MA 0855 is the converrsion parts, they come in alum, and graphite. I think about $150. I've seen them go on ebay for $55. Probably the best up grade you can do, it changes the collective linkages.
when ordering parts be carefull alot of the parts have been up-graded and have differant part numbers.
new main shaft is 0866-15, was 0614
tail rotor hub is 122-65, was 0446-1

It certainly is a 1005 gasser
With some upgrades and in need of other upgrades They do fly for a very long time, mine got over 2250 flight on it now

You can take a look at my gallery for some pictures of mine. I'm soon going to be upgrading the head to a tempest head, and will probably sell off the 3D head if anyone is interested.

I have that exact same tail on a bird I got off ebay. It doesn't stay tight on the boom worth a crap. I just drilled a hole through the top of the gear box into the boom and put in a small self taper. Now its locked in place. Does your bird have the same setup?

That tail is designed to be held in place with the rear tailfin clamp - I don't have any issues with mine coming off unless I want it to come off Gorgeous looking machine, looks almost just like mine!

I *really* like that blue XL-Pro2 canopy...
