any thoughts gentlemen?

6100E?
3S 2800 generics?

Looking for glitch-free flying and decent life on the packs.

Oh, does Align do that new look canopy for the 450? (like the new 500 style)

Thanks!

6200 so you have the satellite receiver and I like the Flightmax 2200 30C packs from HK.

+1 on the HK packs, however -1 on the reciever. I must have a 1000 hours of hard 3D heli time on a variety of Spektrum 6100s, all without the slightest glitch EVER.

+1 for HK packs here too.

+1 for the 6100E. The 6100 is a pain in the you know what when you need to switch something out.

+1 on the 6100e. I have the 6100 on the Trex450V2 and can be a pain. I have the 6100e on the sport and is much easier to get too. I'm running various 2200 20C packs...I am starting to move to 25-30C packs as my flying improves.

Not too sure about the 2800 packs...seems they would be a bit on the heavy side...especially off-brands.

6100e/6110e receivers work just great in the 450.

Flightmax or Rhino packs from Hobbycity/Hobbyking. Great prices, excellent performance.

I was thinking the 25C's are the best buy, what do you think? Scale and mild 3D...

I used to have some old TP 2100's about 3 years ago. How many C would they have been? 15? These should outperform those np and they are about $100 less! I can't believe I paid $120 for EACH 3S TP batt a few years ago!

If those were TP 2100 Pro Lites, I think they were 15C, 18C peak packs.

I've been running the Rhino 2150 mah 3S packs (I think they are 20C) in a couple of 450s for about two years now, they just keep on flying and have performed quite well.

With spring perhaps "just around the corner", it's time for me to start thinking about picking up some additional 6S Turnigy packs and some more Rhinos from HK before they all get sold out.

1+ for a 6100E and Rhino packs. However if you have unlimited money, the 45C ThunderPower packs seem to be the best.

I ordered some Zippy 3S 2250 25C's for $18.99 each. Shipping was expensive though, US$32 for EMS, wow. I hope these work out okay as I've always stuck to the big brands like Thunderpower / Flightpower and Outrage Extremes.

Thanks for the help in choosing.

Zippy batteries are OK, and you can't beat the price. If you just want to practice ALOT, then buying a bunch of Zippies makes sense.

I have been using Zippy/Flight max from 3S to 6S for the past 18 months. I just switched to BlueLipo recently and they are as good as the Zippy/Flightmax,about the same price and $4.95 shipping no matter how many you buy:

That page shows links to X heli and Hobby Parts. If your just getting Batts, then Hobby Parts is the best place. Sometimes things are like a $1 less with them. Gotta check both places. x heli has Parts express shipping for things that are parts and not kits/arfs.

Judging by the color of the shrink wrap (a more translucent blue) I don't think they are flightmax. But I bet there are only a handfull of Lipo places in the pacific rim anyway.
