No second guessing there ... it states that they are leaving and that the remaining shareholders are staying in business .Which can also be verified by the post of the other two people in the U.S. involved in the business now .... on another forum

This is the way small business can stay alive in these economically challenged days ..

2 yrs ago the 4 John Deere repair service centers in our area grouped together ,,,so they could buy parts and tools cheaper and run the mechanics to the busyist part of the county ....This yr I hear that another Bigger group has bought out that grouping and is even bigger yet!!! ...
Look at the hospitals around the smaller communities ... all being bought up by the bigger hospitals that are close buy ... So we have a parkview hospital in Lagrange that is actually 2 hours away from the parent hospital ... but because they are big they can buy supplies and services cheaper and have more access to specialized doctors .

People change and deicide to go different directions and that is perfectly fine ,,, and there is always someone there to take up where they left off and maybe even make it better than it was before !!!!
Just think ,,, now we won't have to send the 54 motors off to England and pay a shipping fortune ,,, we can keep it here in the states with to companies that already have proved they care about their customers ..
So no guessing ,, just a change that will make all our hobby lives better

Unless you live in England, in which case, you wont be able to pop into Wrens works and have a cup of tea and a slice of cake while they fix your turbine, you will have to send it over here and wait.

Didn't see anywhere that it was said that all of Wren was moving to the U.S.
... Mike and Terry are still there for you to go over and have your precious cup of tea Peter and Barry . Unless you are saying here on the board that you don't like Mike and Terry !!!?????

They are still going to produce the 44 ..but as most of the 54 market is here in the U.S. this is the reason that Ron has bought (A ) machine to help service the 54's

With the money I spend on this hobby ... shipping is the least of my wife's worry

But here again because everyone is jumping the gun and speculating about the hurt done to them and what will happen to Wren and what they probably ,secretly, would like to see happen to a good company ... instead of waiting for the companies involved in the merger to finish negotiation and make a final statement as to what is actually going to happen ,,,, no one gets ahead in a tizzy like this ...

Everyone step back take a deep breathe and give these 3 great companies a chance and some positive support through the troubles,, instead of all this negative stuff .

Look at it this way ,,, if we banter and talk down another turbine company to the point of losing it business ,,, the price of the other turbines will undoubtedly go up and you will have to wait for service and motors because they can 't produce them quick enough to supply the extra demand ... so you better pray that they can stay afloat as a turbine business .

:To my knowledge ..... Wren is still going to produce parts for the 54 . Like I said above there is still much negotiating going on ,,, but it does look like the servicing for the 54 will be done at Wren USA and the heli 2nd stage at Bergen's and Wren usa's shop for us in the usa .
We just need to all wait until the companies involved finalize things .

And no one said that they are selling out .... here we go again with talking the company into none existance ... call Mike and Terry and tell them you want to help or something atleast half way productive .

Be patient ,,these things take time to work out and when they are all in place I am sure that they will let us all know .

And I am stepping out on a limb here ,,, but I am sure that given the customer service quality of all 3 of these companies is such that if you have a problem and need one fixed or looked at before they iron it all out ... a simple call would probably get it fixed for you at either home front .

Here are the facts to date on the Wren company
I'll try this one more time.

Mike Murphy and I have discussed the Wren 54 Heli sales in depth. It was agreed that the majority of the 54 sales were coming from here in the USA. In order to to enable Wren in England to become more efficient, the BULK ( not the whole ) of the 54 Heli assembling will be moved to Chris Bergen's business.

I don't know how some of you deduct from what we have said on this site (or other sites), that Wren is moving equipment, discontinuing any products or closing.....No one is "purchasing the machinery that does it"

Facts:

The Wren MK3 & MK4 have been phased out and have been replaced by the Wren 70. NOW pay attention: this is the THRUST motor. Is is available as a KIT or factory assembled.

The 54 Heli motor is still offered, the decision of offering it as a kit is entirely up to Chris...so if you are interested in this version, I suggest you contact Chris directly.

The 44 heli has become so popular, that England is continously 30 to 40 orders behind.
The Wren 54 Heli motor will still be serviced in England, and now here in the USA also... by Bergen and myself. Any new orders for a 54 size heli will be handled by Bergen Helicopters, and if an order is requested from any customer outside the USA, the motor will be shipped direct and supported by England. This is the same scenario that we here at Wren USA have had for the past 2 years. All motors (except the 160) are assembled in England, but we provide the service and support for our US and Canadian customers.

As with any business with more than one director, re-aligning the legal end of things ...when ownership changes hands....does not happen overnight, no matter how hard we push.

So PLEASE..be patient, and be assured:
Wren will always stand for quality and customer service.

Best regards,
Ron Ballard
Wren Turbines USA
So there you have it ;;;; not sold out ,,, just improved ,,, bigger and better than ever ... now we not only have service in England but in the U.S. also ....

It pays to be patient , and look on the positive side of life instead of the negative side all the time .

Only the gas generator, not the gear box.

So if you want to get your gear box serviced it has to go over to USA,
and Bergen will do it.

I have spoken to a few wren flyers via PM, here, and they are going start servicing their own turbines themselves.

Edit.... here it is from their web site, where they clearly say they will do the gas generator ( front end of the turbine) not the complete gearbox, unless I have misread,

Purchase & servicing of the Wren 54 gas generator engine is continuing as normal at the Wren UK facility.

Wren USA, in conjunction with 'Bergen' Helicopters, will continue assembly & repair of gearboxes.

Complete units can be purchased direct from Wren USA.
