Is anyone has an input on what type starter adapter best fit stratus? My Flex one way bearing is going bad and I just got a new Align starter for other helis and would like to use it on all of them. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

I put this on my Tempest. I have not fired it up yet though, waiting for nicer weather and someone with alittle more brain power to check my set up.

Using a raptor coupler, works fine. File a flat on the shaft though.

Thank you for your quick replies,

But, I am just being curious, does it cause any vibration by adding one in there/

Adding the start shaft coupling is fine, it will not create vibration.

Started using the flex start, changed to a hex coupler for a year and went back to the flex start. While the hex works, the flex in much gentler and more positive. Using the tip with 1 one-way bearing and 2 bushing has worked perfectly for 2 seasons, well over 500 starts.

I flush my flex shaft one way bearing every year for the last 7 years with Triflow oil and has worked just fine. Has done lots of starts.

Great advice, I like that but I guess besides the cost I was trying to get down to one starter since I have more than one machine, it will make it easier that way. MA should just start making or at least make it an option for both flex and the hex.

Looking at the new 50, it looks like they have finally decided to go with the coupling. Which is great.

I use the one starter for everything. The pro-flex has a metal adaptor fitted to allow it to be used in a normal plane starter.
