Looks like it probably be just you and I again. Maybe it's time to change the club name to J&J RC Heli club.

Nice day at the field, got a few flight in but that 10' Corn is scary!!! Sure could have used Steve's heli finder service today though!!! Took the fella's about 10 minutes to find a heli today! The best part was, no damage to the heli!!! NONE! Go Synergy!!

Getting lost in the corn was pretty ****ty thing today. I thought for sure I would never see the E5 again once I got out there. It never really dawned on me how bad that stuff is now that it is like 10 feet tall. It almost like walking around blind folded. I have been doing a lot of research for tracking devices and you can go full blown GPS but that will cost about $180 for the unit and $25 a month for the service. Almost as bad as the cost is the size, as these things are large and would only likely work on a 600 or 700 size heli. A good alternative looks to be this Loc8tor Lite - Model Plane locator. The reviews are excellent but I haven't been able to find anyone that specifically talks about using it to find a heli or plane in a corn field. Not sure if this degrades the signal or not. Anyway if any of you are interested here is the link. $65 for the tracking unit and two locator tags. Additional tags are $45 for two. One tracker can be programmed for up to four tags. $110 to cover four models seems pretty good to me. There is a premium model that can be used up to 24 tags and has more range. It comes with four tags and is $170. I might just get that one.

Yeah, I know right! That corn is gunna give me nightmares, you to huh Jay! Glad I didn't go down in it. But it sure made me think when I was flying, I caught myself out there a few times and about panicked thinking about going down! I don't know if in the 4 years I've been going out there, that I've ever seen it that high! Its not done yet either!! I can see it now, "HELI'S OF THE CORN!" I wonder if Steve could even find one it that stuff, its so thick!
I wish the farmer would find a new crop to grow, like refer or something!! We'd probably have more members!!! LOL

That locator for 65 bucks is probably all you need, you can easily change them to the models you fly most and switch them at will, they look like they go on a keychain.

The cheap one the range says in open space, but the better one says in the bush, would that mean killer corn as well?

Got home a couple hours ago. IRCHA was off the hook this year. That's all I can say!

I saw that one. Range is pretty weak, it uses Bluetooth not GPS. It is cool for tracking down your purse, for those of you that carry one, or keys but I'm not trusting it on $2000 heli. Besides it's not available yet.
