greetings logo pilots, i recently starting flying the logo 400vbar and i have gain questions.
i am using a futaba 9650 for the tail servo and i have the gain at 27 in order to keep the tail from violently wagging. this is shocking to me because im not used to seeing it so low, especially since on a gy520 going that low drops the gyro to normal rate.

I would like to hear what your gain settings are from anyone using the same 9650 servo on a logo 400, and does anyone know if like on a normal gyro, does the vbar go in to normal rate below 50 on the gain setting?

if i go up to 30 on the gain i get wag, if i drop to 25 i get a super loose tail, am i doing something wrong with the tail??

any advice would be highly appreciated, thanks a ton, Daniel

The Logo 400 does use a low/unusual gain anyway

Maybe you could move the ball closer to the servo screw to reduce the mechanical gain (but make sure you still get full tail pitch slider travel)

9650 is not really a tail servo.. 4.8v = 0.14 sec/60' = great servo for cyclic on logo 400

better choice for tail:
9251,9253,9254,9256,bls 251,bls 254.all futabas 4.8v = 0.6 sec/60'

Get the bls251 it is the best tail servo.

The 9650 is not a good choice at all.

i agree

i'd love to go with the bls251, gotta save up for it first i have a 9253 that i had on there as the original servo of choice, i just put this 9650 on there to see if the tail problem would go away, but it occurs on both my 9253 and my 9650. i plan on putting the 9253 back, but for now i moved the ball closer to the servo screw as recommended by JaFa, thanks! i'll try that tomorrow and see if the tail gain can be raised without severe wagging.
