..finally took some pics of G's dual power, dual switch system.. and it's got a jewel too..

Switch on one, checl volts, switch on two, check volts, switch off one and check, range check, fire up, get it idling nicely and see the jewel bring it right up to full voltage, hang on to heli and switch off one and then both to check the jewel is doing it's full job. switch back on and go.

Yeah, it sounds a pain but actually takes seconds and optional whether you bother after the first flight of the day but I ike to check the resevre packs are adequate in case jewel failed to top them off

And yes I have sorted the exhaust splatter from when these pics were taken!

Also note I use short lengths of aerial tube to slide my 2.4G aerials down.. allows them to pull loose in any 'incident' without damage

Looks good PGK. . . not sure I would have put the switches so far away from the packs and the receiver though. Glad to hear it's working out, keep us posted.

Reason simple..
it's by the pull start so impossible to forget to switch on.
It's handier for idiots to read the indicator from the rear than the front.
You can access the switches with the lid on.
There's room to mount the dual switch plate I made

Also
I did a lot of testing of volt drop through switches and connectors so I know it's not significant here.
By using some very short extensions and clip-over holders I can unplug those extensions for dropping the bottom frame without unplugging from the rx. Saves the important plug/socket from damage
Otherwise theres lots of spare switch wire and then the argument fo whether one should DIY shorten

If you would put a Spartan on there you could drop a little weight as the 611 has the extra box. Just a thought. Looks good.

All very good reasons PG - good on ya! (I think that's how you say it). I'm very interested to hear how this works out in an actual flight situation. Now go get us some flight time! =)
