I was at the LHS today and when browsing through all the ARF's in stock, they all seemed to be priced higher than they should have been. Even a Twist 40 was priced at $179 which is a $100 plane all day long normally. This LHS isn't high either and is usually priced on the lower end of the spectrum on prices. I've also hear rumblings about it on the universe as well. Did the suppliers increase the costs on the retailers or is it something else?

Thoughts?

Actually the prices went back down.
Last summer ARF prices went up about 20% when fuel (including the stuff that powers freighters) went way up.
So an Ultra Stick 60 went from 179 to 229.
Last I saw, H9 and GP dropped their recommended prices back to 2008 levels.

I think the fact you were in your LHS was why the prices seemed higher. Retail is down more than internet stores so you have to raise your margins.

the ARF prices did go up substantially for a short while and then come back down part way. hard on the LHS that bought stock when it was high and now has to compete with the price change going low...
like the twist 40 you mentioned was $100 then up to $170 now back to $120.

I put the fun in dysFUNctional :)

It's not just ARF's. Have you bought groceries lately?

ARFS

Little ARFS have gone up and the big ARFS 27% - 42% have stayed the same but the quality seems to have gone way up. Take a look at Aeroworks stuff, man quality and light weight to boot.

What amazes me is the price they are getting for the bind and fly type foamies, t28 and such but I have to say I am a sucked also bought that parkzone radian and it is a blast to catch some thermals, motor speed control... everything 140. Hard to beat.

Vote for Rush Limbaugh/Glenn Beck for president. Then this american dollar would be worth somthing again. Those 2 boys can fix anything.

I hate the price tags at the local hobby shops. When I go there, Im in desperate need. I kringe when I see coulples buying these overly priced kits/planes/cars at the hobby shop. I just wanna scream, Hey, you can get it way cheaper at READYHELI,ECT. Thoug, If I did do that, I probly would'nt be allowed to use the LHS sim for hours at a time though....
