I'm building up a Schluter Superior. The kit that I have shows a tail rotor control rod made up of a couple of short threaded 2mm rods, and a long piece of Nyrod -- similar to the plastic tube within a tube push rod system used in planks.

My original Superior back in the 80s used two 2mm metal pushrods, joined together by a short black plastic joiner.

Finding a joiner is no problem, finding the tail boom clamps to support the pushrod is not a problem.

What IS a problem is knowing the length of the two separate 2mm pushrods supplied in the original kit.

If anyone out there who has a Superior with the metal 2mm TR pushrods can either measure the two rods and post their length, or perhaps look at the build instructions if you have them, and let me know the Schluter part numbers for the two rods, you'd certainly make my day.

Schluter TR pushrods

Hello Dave: I can help answer part of your question, but not all of it. I have the Superior assembly instructions and here are the part numbers. The long rod is part# 356, the coupler is # 1242, and the short rod is #3305. However, I do not know the lengths. I also checked the Champion part numbers and they are the same. So, you can ask guys to check their Champs. for length. I also have the Schluter parts list & prices from back then, but the lengths are not specified. Hope this helps.

PS: Did that ST carb. fit your OS?

Blue -- those part numbers are great, more help than knowing the length at this point.

The ST carb fit like a glove...

There it is, almost all ready to go.

Those part numbers are great -- For anyone else who needs to know, the long pushrod, PN S0356 -- is 760 mm long. The short one, PN S3305, is 300 mm long.

Ron's Heliproz South has the long one in stock, and it appears that Midland UK has BOTH in stock.

Thanks once again.

I would normally get two of the long ones and make the short ones from that long one.

That's a good idea. I'd have to buy a 2mm die, however, to thread things. I suppose I've been flying long enough by now that I should already own a die for that purpose.

Of course this would be an excellent opportunity for the cutting thread vs rolling them discussion to pop up.
