I see the 12FG has variable dual rates. Can someone give me a basic explanation of what this is? What I'd really like is 'Tri' rates, three different cyclic rates available by switch position or by condition. Is there any way to accomplish this on the 12FG? One other quick question on the 12FG. Can you save different trims for each flight condition?....Thanks!

You can have different rates for each condition w/o using the dual rate function and with the dual rate function, you can get different cyclic rates within that condition. E.g. you switch between condition 1,2,3 using a switch and having different rate for each condition. Then with each condition, you can have different rates by flipping another switch.

And yes, you can have different trims for each flight condition.
