Hi, I am trying to mount a pinion on my scorpion 4025. I understand that I need to file a flat spot for the grub screw to prevent the pinion from slipping, but how flat of a flat does it have to be? Is this sufficient? I am afraid of removing to much material and weakening the shaft.

When applying loctite, it is just for the pinion screws and not for the pinion to the motor shaft right?

That should do nicely. Just a drop of blue Loctite on the threadsof the set (grub) screw.
