so i'm trying to work on the assembly of my new predator carbon gasser. when bolting on the landing gear to the bottom aluminum frame, the doesn't rest on the bottom frame because there are small tabs on the carbon side frames that stick out past the bottom frame.

the manual doesn't show any spacers between the bottom frame the landing gear.

so do i just bolt it up and live with the gap between the bottom frame and the landing gear?

thanks
tony

No Don't bolt the landing gear struts to the bottom plate

vatechguy3

There are 4 metal cylinders in your kit about 1/2" in diameter and 1" long. They go between the bottom plate and the struts. Raja turned me on to the rubber dampers like the ones in this photo:

I use these:

The JR part no is JRP960117.

Or you can take a set of 2mm blade grip spacers and file a chord in it to take up the space between the bottom plate and struts.

Good luck.

This hobby is WAY too expensive!!

I've heard of the JR ones breaking on the GSR, it was recommended to remove them....

Hey, that's my Spectra!

Actually those rubber cylinders are from QWW, and they are much stronger than the JR landing gear dampeners which ripped quite easily. I used to use the JR ones but now prefer the QWW ones.

I'm using the dampensers now on all my helis, as they help raise the landing gear up some and get the tail fin further away from the ground.

Raja,

Hope it was OK to use the photo of your Spectra.

Thanks for the tip on the QWW. I'll get my next set from them.

Hey Doug

Of course it was! I'm happy to see the info being shared around. After all, we're all here to learn and pickup tips.

Just came back from snow blowing...almost can't remember when it wasn't snowing any more...3 out of the 4 last days its snowing Today it let up a little bit but now there are more bands coming in from Maine, get dark and the flakes are flying again...
