Greetings!

I picked up my Mongoose a couple of months back off of ebay, and despite the description of it being test flown by the factory, it wasn't.

How can I tell?
Real easy, firstly, it doesn't have a throttle rod fitted and secondly, it has never had the throttle servo fitted either, there's no way you can put a screw through those painted frames without leaving a witness mark.

I'm really looking forward to sticking that in there.

So I need to order one the correct length and I'd like to get it the right length first shot.

Could someone who has set their throttle up as per the "Malorie Mod" be good enough to let me know the length I need.

Thank you kindly,

Chris

Did you pay extra to have it test flown?

G'day Windy,

No mate.
It didn't come from Airstar, but it was the best deal I've ever come across on ebay.
I'm quite sure that everyone thought it was a scam and there was no one more surprised than me when I won it.

Brand new, fitted with G260RC, 4xFutaba 9252, 9253 on the tail, Robbe 8065 3D Gyro, stock muffler and 810 MAH blades, all that for the princely sum of USD$1250.00. Plus airfright, no, that's not spelling error, it was a fright.

I've already picked up a s/h rear mount Zimmerman but I need a bit of flexible pipe to finish the fitting, couple of grommets to fit the canopy, and of course a throttle rod. I've got a 9202 ready for the throttle.

Cheers,
Chris

Yes, do you sort of get the message that I'm pretty well over the moon about it.

windy I've been dribbling and drooling over a Mongoose for yonks.
Been looking and reading about them, downloading pictures of of them.
I never thought I'd actually get to own one, what with the Ozzie dollar less than the greenback.
Then there's the freight, 10% GST plus customs clearing and a 250 mile round trip to civilisation to pick it up.

Hell. The next plan is to sell off most of my fleet and get another one. Or three.

Cheers,

Chris

Hey Chris,
I don't know what the Malorie Mod is, but according to the manual, the length is 103mm eye-to-eye. Hope this helps.

Thanks for that Larry.
You know I read that in the manual and then for some reason I had it in the back of my head that it was 93.

Age and numbers are definately catching up with me and both are the current cause of a very serious cash flow problem I find myself in.
I've got the cash, just can't get it to flow.
The bank sent me a replacement card for one that was lost in the post, along with a new pin that I convinced myself that I would have no problem remembering.
Yeah Right!
I have to go to the nearest branch with photo ID and I can reset the pin to my old one, 120 mile round trip.

Anyhow, 103mm is in the ball park.
I just sat a servo in the slot, and took a rough shot with the calipers, and to check it out, the pitch link on the Predator is 103mm so I can do some playing.

Larry I put a link to the "Malorie Mod" in my last post on Plantone's head rubber post, check it out, this is the new way everyone's setting up their throttle servo's for Gassers and it makes a lot of sense.

Cheers,

Chris
