I am thinking of buying the MSR. I have a lot of experience with the micro helis all the way up to the larger nitros. That being said I usually have main motor failures on brushed motors. Brushless motors seem to last forever but the brushed motors may last an hour or so.

My question is, how long does the MSR brushed motor last? Do they have a lot of failures? Does Eflite have a brushless version?

I have a walkera 4#3B with brushless and have not had any trouble with it. However, the forward flight does not seem to match the MSR so I want to try one of those.

Thanks,

Gary

I have both 4#3b and the msr and to me the B has better fast forward flight. On the MSR you really have to hold forward cyclic to get it going, even on the advance setting. The Msr is more stable than the B in hovering and reminds me of a mcx. I have had over 30 flights on the Msr and the motors have shown no signs of wear and flies like new.

Got to have my cup of heli in the morning.

I would watch the motor temp.
If you buy a higher ma battey to fly longer then things might heat up
You snould be able to oil it

The msr motors will last a LONG time.
It only weighs 1 ounce!!

I have over 10 hours on mine now and NO signs of wearing out or losing power yet.

I do let it cool 5 minutes between flights though, although i dont know if it's necessary or not.
