It just has a couple pcs gone were the blades just caught the boom. I was gonna just glass it up and repaint but thought bit would be lighter if i just cut the old boom off were the "stone aviation" lettering starts and slip a new boom over and repaint and re-letter. I'll get a pic or two of the damage posted as well. Thanks, Dave

if you plan to cut the boom then let me recomend a technique i used to repair my 30 size jetranger fuse after it suffered the same fate. i used construction paper, laminate it a couple times using thin and medium ca. see, the boom on the 500 is a simple tapered tube easy to duplicate by rolling. i then rolled another piece large enough to fit inside diameter of the boomand glue that to the fuse side. now i can simply just plug the new boom untothe main fuse. the construction paper when lminated is rigid and is easy to prime prep and paint. not to mention lightweight.

Hey great idea!! I never thought of that. That certainly would be lighter than the glass cloth or matte and all the resin I was planning. I still get the pics for ya as well.
Thanks again, Dave
