Can anybody tell me what sort of fuel the manufacturers use to acheive there power figures?
I have a flyin buddy using the webra in his vibe 50, and the specs show its alot lighter than the os55hyp, but has the same power, are they testing on equal terms?.

well, the guys over at Hirobo Japan are usualy running Cosmo Fuel. We get that here in the States and I am not sure what you get over across the Pond.

It is Cosomo 30%

That is really all the information I know.

Not likely. Neither the same fuel nor the same methodology. Or even the same testing equipment. And I won't even begin to comment on how gearing and exhaust can play into how well a motor with seemingly the same hp might be chewed up and spit out by another. The best you might be able to gain from hp figures is how a given mfg's motor compares to the that came one before it. How it compares to a comparable engine from another mfg. really comes down to flying the thing.

I run the Webra 55 in my SDX but power wasn`t the consideration.
I have it running fine and doing everything I want it to without nitro so running costs are way down and flight times are way up.

It`s a Hatori. 556 I think is the number. It`s for the new big block 55 engines like the hyper 55.

I must add though that the main consideration for you may be what do other people in your area use? Can you get assistance if required?
The majority of people use OS or YS engines if I`m not mistaken.
I`d hate to lead you astray so In My Opinion - Go with what you know or your mates fly with so you know you aren`t out on your own if you get stuck tuning it.
Having said that, my Webra goes great after following the run in procedure and then 14% coolpower blue with 4% castor and no nitro.
The Carbs are different to an OS when it comes to tuning. I used head loaders to get it close and then leaned the low/mid needle slightly as required and it goes great. I didn`t have an issue with it at all.
I know some people have had issues.
I don`t know if it will out perform another engine or not - it flies fine for me but I`m no 3D maniac, just a Sunday flier really.

Webra 55

I fly a Sceadu SWM, Webra 55, GP Exhaust muffler and 15% nitro fuel (omega, cool power, wild cat, etc).
I have had issues with my first webra 55P5. Reason was a combination of one unit with a different mid range needle (probably production quality scape) with a very high ambient temperature in my country. Engine was replaced and my second webra works fine. It required a long break in and tuning is a bit difficult (not for beginners). Paticullarly for the Sceadu (that has a narrow/tall fuel tank) engine performance got much better after installation of a mixture control (carbsmart system). Today I fly 16 minutes with one tank.
