Hello All

I've been reading several threads/post for quite some time now and wondering if you guys can help pick between the two Kinetic 50 or the Hawk Pro. I realize that they're basically the same. but any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S I'm and electric heli guy wanting to try something different.

The only real difference is one is a 50, and the other a 30. Do you want a 50 or a 30 size?

The government cannot give you anything without first taking it from someone else.

For a detailed breakdown of the differences between the Hawk Pro, the Kinetic 50 and the Raven 50, you will find them in this article.

The most basic difference is 30 size vs 50 size.

Get the 50, it'll take longer to grow out of...

No need for further research, The Raven is only $90 more and comes with $75 main blades. Its a no brainier, get the Raven or the 50NX and be done with it.

well I would rather see you buy new so you would have a warranty, but the Hawk Pro in the link is a good buy,, just be careful if you buy !!

I also fly a Hawk Sport with a .32 in it. I moved up from a 450. I bought it second hand and couldn't be happier. I fly it more than the 450. it is just so stable. If I didn't already have a .30 I would pick up that Pro with servos. It is a good buy.

Here's a suggestion.

Get a sim if you don't have one already. Invest in a good radio right from the start, that way you won't need to upgrade down the line. I'd suggest 7 chanels minimun....

Find out where your local flying clubs are and start hanging out. Ask questions, find out what others in your area are flying and why. This hobby is hard if you go it alone. The locals are gonna be your #1 source for hands on help, odds are your gonna need it.

Nothin wrong with a Hawk that's what i started with, why? Because that's what the guy near me was flying so i had help. What radio did i get? JR 8103, why? Because that's what he had too. Learning set up and programing is way easier if the local help know the radio.

This is NOT a cheap hobby and buying good stuff up front will save you $$$$$ down the road....

If i had to do it again i'd of started out with a 50 size machine...

Sage advise from JRjoe. I still have my Hawk Sport w/ an OS37 along with 3 other 50s and a 500. But if I had it to do over Ida gone straight to a Raven 50. IMO a sim and at least a DX7 radio is in the first few months. Sim first and sim often. A DX7 will take you 2-3 years to out grow and it can do all thats really needed.
As it is the Hawk Sport which over time has all Raven parts except the CCPM conversion will soon get a Hyper 50 and a scale body.
SO a Hawk is a great heli to start out on and as you crash, it can easily be turned into a very nice flying 50.

RIP ROMAN

Go straight to the Raven or NX. I would have saved a bunch of money if I had done this. The blades alone make it worth the extra $$$.

C-6 for what it is worth I have a brand new hawk pro (5 tanks) with a brand new OS37 for sale in the heli section. It beats the tower price hands down, is fully assembled and all you need to add is an RX and gyro and program your radio. All the links and servos are there. And its a cheap price! Two sets of main and tail blades too.

how about this?

the kinetic was my first nitro heli, and if I had to do it all over again I would buy a raptor.the kinetic parts are too expensive IMO for a first timer. It flew good, but never flew as good as any of my raptors. And the parts for rappys are cheaper and everywhere compared to the century birds.
The Tower easy plan makes them easier to pay for(that's what I did)
just make sure you research everything before you put out the cash, and look in the classifieds here on rr,there are some pretty good deals out there.
just my .02
