I don't think it's impressive because of skill, it's impressive because you have to have balls the size of Texas to do it. I kind of agree with AFjetmech. The stuff he does on a bike is a lot harder than that, although the car jump has more of a wow factor.

What was it really? Hit the gas and drive straight, hit the ramp at a certain speed, hold on!

[quote]if jumping 269ft was easy why it took this long to do it[quote]

exactly. but money plays a big part - do you know how much it cost to technically orchestrate something like this.
i tried to break the 200ft barrier in one of my 543bhp evo6s' back in 2003 - 'only' managed 176ft!

Yeah, my point is that anyone could have jumped in the car once it was all set up, punched the gas, held on and made the jump. Now the bikes are a different story. Not just anyone could jump on a MX bike and do a double back flip. I'd really like to see someone launch a car doing like 180 mph over something really big.

I thought the episode of Nitro Circus was awesome when Travis jumped off the bridge with his parachute canopy in his hands. Did anyone see that one?

i seen that episode as well...! for a guy who isnt a dedicated skydiver or anything, he's incredible... he didnt even look scared or anything. just hopped out! and besides being an adrenaline siper junky, he really seems to be a nice guy. i mean clean cut, straight laced kid. he's got a genuine smile.

you guys ever seen the "punked" episode where a guy comes into his hotel room and confronts Travis about his wife??? hahahahaaa..... i gotta say, thats the ONLY time ive ever seen him look scared!

I will say it takes big ones, but I was racing a lot when Travis was coming up nice kid, however it is disappointing to see someone with so much natural talent waste it by being a "circus" act.

My favorite NC stunt was when Travis tried to back flip a Monster Truck. He managed launch it 30 ft up, backflipped it and landed it on its windshield. Now thats a stunt I wished he could redo and land.

Nope. That was some other guy that and the stunt was in Vegas.

Pastrana is the man for sure. I remember an episode of him doing a back flip from one building top to another. I also remember another where he was base jumping and his chute opened a little late; almost killed himself on the side of a cliff.

I was impressed but I don't think it was as good as Maddison dirtbike jump the year before

It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine!

Wow, I can't believe it's been a year since the Maddison jump! 09 passed through real fast.

BTW, Sun Nuclear, I believe this is the stunt you were thinking about.
