Anyone know what the gold dot on the R6008/14HS receiver means?

There was a long thread on Flying Giants, when there were supposed to be heat issues (i.e. high temperature/hot weather related receiver failures in some of the Futaba receivers).

Some said that the gold dot signified a production change to allow the receiver to operate in higher heat conditions.

It was hard to sort out what was actually true and what was not. A lot of people were reporting failures, and a lot were not, under apparently similar conditions.

Here is the thread:

It seemed to apply to those who fly very large fixed-wing in very hot weather.
