Never a problem.

If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter.

That must be very lonely, and boring, I’m glad for you and sorry for you at the same time
Never a dull moment, I get to fly all day without so much as a word from the plank guys. open and free from all stresses. Its a wonderful life!!! you guys have really got to try this just once.

< It seems that it costs the AMA more money in labor and accounting work to process renewals after the last day of your membership and I for one want to help the AMA save as much as they can.>

if that were true i would expect the ama to offer an incentive for early renewal as a means to offset their costs - but as we know, that isn't the case. in reality, I think all that happens if you renew before dec 31 is that the ama has better idea of what their revenue budget will be for the next calendar year.

That's the only reason I have one. I love attending heli events and since I hit 5-6 a year it is very easy to justify

But back on topic, no I have not received mine and I did it online in early Dec.

That's weird. I always wait till the last minute. I did mine online this year just before Christmas, and got my card on the 29th

I really wonder how they do things for there to be such a disparity in card response times.

Most of my flying is done at my personal field out behind my house. I will admit it is nice being able to walk out the back door and do my thing. It was all I knew until I joined my club. I am the only helicopter guy, but it's still fun to be able to bs and fly. I still fly as much as I want in a day, they usually try to get me to fly more. They are a good bunch for being plankers and all.

I got AMA as soon as I got my nitro last year, before I even thought of joining a club. I figured if I ever wanted to go to a field or event, I would need it. Plus, it's nice to have something to supplement my homeowners insurance. I live close enough to a highway where if something happened, and it made it to the highway, (a real stretch, but still a possibility), it would get real ugly real quick. With as much as we spend on this hobby, 50something bucks isn't bad.

I renewed mine as soon as the notice came in the mail.
