Stick to Kauai or the Big Island, IMO the best of Hawaii.

Life is tough, it's tougher if you're stupid

I have been to Hawaii 3 times and always liked Maui the best.

The big island is pretty much volcanoes.

Which island has the Pacific Grand Canyons? That was nice too.

More pictures!!

Thanks, TheWoodCrafter

Yep,,, 345.7 miles

Aloha Both trips are well worth it if you have the time,, We made the time, Tamara and I both like sight seeing, and renting the car, and being able to stay as long as needed at some of the most AMAZING spots, was....... Well I don't have the vocabulary to put it into words, The video that I took of the whale watching, put's you right in the action,, There was another guy on the boat, that had his camera in a water tight case, and I'll bet he got some really amazing shots, he must have lived there, or something, as he was on the boat when we got there 30 minutes early, If your going to go whale watching,, you want to get on a (small boat) that's what they called it, 20' long, and about 10' wide, close to the water, I was standing on the back of the boat where the ladders went into the water, Very Close to the water, I got down and tried to touch one of them but was just inches short, my wife to, along with everyone else in the boat, if I would have had a mask,,, I would probley be whale food by now.... Aloha, and Mahalo~~ XGM/VGM

The wife and I stayed at the family timeshare in Lahaina, in Sept 08 for 7 days. We didn't have any jetlag issues. We got there in the afternoon, picked up our rental car, a Chevy Cobalt. We rented the cheapest smallest car they had because why spend the money on something that was just going to get us to the fun. We used a half a tank of gas the entire time we were there and we drove all over the place.

Anyway, one thing we did was get a free membership at one of the grocery stores to save money and bought a lot of groceries. We still ate out on occasion, but the majority of our eating was at the timeshare. It was a sweet timeshare, had a beach 20 feet from the sliding door. Basic, but Awesome.

Next day after arrival we did a snorkel trip that was at the Crater and then the boat went to one of the other islands for a second snorkel fest. It was the first time I ever snorkeled, and I can't swim well, so it was scary at first, but within minutes it was awesome.

Next day was a helicopter tour. Helicopter tours are spendy, but c'mon. You can't be a helicopter enthusiast in Hawaii and not take a trip. Our pilot was the pilot that flew the ship that shot the Maui footage for the first Jurassic Park movie. He was cool, he hovered near the falls in different orientations so everyone could get good pics. He made a lot of pot jokes too.

We parasailed, did a show (Ulalena), did the aquarium. We also logged some quality beach time, shopping and pool time. I could and did just sit and watch the ocean for hours, relaxing.

It was the absolute best 7 days we have had. We never bickered or even had any issues. Smoothest trip I have ever taken. We actually travel very well and have a lot of fun.

And yes, we probably could have just stayed there and never came back.

Hey xcellgasman101,

Looks like we looked at the same waterfall.

I will be going back. Someday, and hopefully soon!

Did you check out the church with Charles Lindbergh's grave?

The cemetery he was in was on the Road to Hana at basically the end of the road before it turns to no man's land. This is the church and some of the other graves that were there. Was amazingly beautiful! The view was spectacular.

Here are some from the summit
